I smell sawdust, molasses, malt vinegar. Slight haze on the deep amber topped by light tan. I taste orange, resin & caramel. Complex finish.

Finally, a fireside beer. Not a campfire ale, this is one for sipping by the fireplace while snuggled under a blanket. Raisin and mild spice in the nose, sweet malty flavor rule this beer. Finish is quick and clean.

Nice winter warmer. Copper brown color, good balance of robust hops and malt and the brown sugar brings it together.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours dark copper with a slight beige head. Aroma of brown sugar - sort of barley wine. Med body, or not quite. It seems thin. There’s a bitterness to go with the brown sugar. No particular hop quality other than spice/earth seems to stand out. And those might be questionable. It’s less than dry, but has enough bitter to hold off the sugar for the most part. Hmmm

22 oz bomber purchased from Grocery Outlet..D Street Salem OR $4.39 Now says Seasonal Ale on the label and 8% alc 50 IBUS. Pours a nice warm amber colour with a beige coloured bubbly head. Leaves wonderful lace. Toffee, caramel warm sugar aromas..little hop maybe herbal. Smooth toffee, treacle taste..almost turns British licorice, burnt brown bread, cane sugar..smooth as hell. Smooth creamy palate..a true by the fire beer. Nice cold weather sipper.

Deep dark amber coloured body with a copper glow and a thinnish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, earth and quite a bit of malt. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich caramel and malty flavour with a grassy and herbal hop note and a lot of depth of sugars. Aftertaste shows a lot of malty and nutty character with some earth and piney/resinous hops around - very nice. Overall, a good beer with a lot of character and complexity - nice to sample! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased yesterday on-sale for US$3,49 at Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 03-May-2015 sampled the following day in my hotel room here in Portland on 04-May-2015.
