3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours amber with thin, off-white head. A malty aroma with subtle vanilla, spice, raisin and yeast. The dominant malt moves through to the flavour, where it creates a smooth, warming balance with subtle hop and the light plum, raisin and vanilla flavours. subtle yeast on the finish which coats the palate beautifully. A well-brewed mild ale and very drinakable. Top marks.
1.25L plastic bottle fresh from the brewery. Coppery-mahogany hue, small foamy off white mostly lasting head, good lacing. Very nice hoppy, malty, dark fruity, spicy aromas - raisin especially with some vanilla. Moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness - nice flavour. Medium body, watery to oily texture, slightly chewy, light carbonation, bitter finish of average duration.
Initial impression - reminiscent of a Galbraith’s ale. Very nice indeed. donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 15, 2008

Tasted 10/06. Dark draught brown colour. Dry malt slightly yeasty nose. Not overly complex. Thru the palate you wait for it to develop but it comes up a bit short. Dark, hopp dry finish beerledgend (1196) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 5, 2007
