Demise (57) - Wellington, - MAR 23, 2009
Pours amber with thin, off-white head. A malty aroma with subtle vanilla, spice, raisin and yeast. The dominant malt moves through to the flavour, where it creates a smooth, warming balance with subtle hop and the light plum, raisin and vanilla flavours. subtle yeast on the finish which coats the palate beautifully. A well-brewed mild ale and very drinakable. Top marks.

1.25L plastic bottle fresh from the brewery. Coppery-mahogany hue, small foamy off white mostly lasting head, good lacing. Very nice hoppy, malty, dark fruity, spicy aromas - raisin especially with some vanilla. Moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness - nice flavour. Medium body, watery to oily texture, slightly chewy, light carbonation, bitter finish of average duration. Initial impression - reminiscent of a Galbraith’s ale. Very nice indeed.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2008 Tap at Beervana 2008. Pours medium/dark amber, fully diminishing off white head. Spicy aromas with some vanilla, malt and hops. Initially sweet flavour, some chocolate, burnt malt coming in, vanilla in background, slight sourness and mild hops. Astringent finish. Amazing.

(Plastic bottle 50 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a bubbly, beige head dissipating in no time. Lightly burned malt in the aroma, a little nuttiness and a little metal. Light in body with dry accentsof malt and caramel with a light lingering acidity. The finish is dry with some bitterness. Decent. 120208

Tasted 10/06. Dark draught brown colour. Dry malt slightly yeasty nose. Not overly complex. Thru the palate you wait for it to develop but it comes up a bit short. Dark, hopp dry finish
