Can from convenient store. Dark amber. Aroma has roasted malts. Flavour is surprisingly good, roasted malts, some caramel, nice bitter finish. Light body.
Lata. Amber brown colour, clear. Sweet toasty malty caramel aroma. Well toiasted malty caramel sweet flavour, with bit fruit to it. Soft. GarrettB (1583) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 18, 2016
February 16th, 2014 - I had very low hopes when I popped the top on this guy. One would be expected for mistaking this for a vending machine coffee can of abnormal size of they didn’t study the bottom of the aluminum label, where one sees that this is, in fact, an all malt beer. It even looks a little like a thin coffee on the pour, brown and hazy and clear and calm, with only a slight foam of to distinguish it from an industrial gas station looking kind of coffee brew. The aroma is not far from a bad brown ale, insipid and a little off, with that awkward sweetness and soapy bit that never seems to fit quite right. But the flavor is surprisingly redeeming. I first begin to forgive Suntory’s Bitter Roast when I catch a bit of hazelnut in the aftertaste, and then catch darker shades of chocolate and brown rice in the middle of the sip. Not bad, but there are still better cans out there to enjoy all around Tokyo. maekchu (3847) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 19, 2014
Can from 7-11. Roasty, nutty nose, with some chocolate. Rich dark reddish/amber. Strong roast malt, some caramel / hops pick up in mid, and some mild chocolate appears / bittering intensifies briefly in finish. Thin body, with a little hop texture. Surprisingly tasty, in spite of its thinness. Westkyoto77 (635) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 16, 2014
Can. Rich nut-brown. Aromas of peat, toasted malt. Light body. Nice flavours of caramel, liquor, but of plum. Bitterness didn't really kick in until a few seconds after swallowing. Mouthfeel and aftertaste both quite pleasant. Nicely done. KansaiBeerLvrs (5097) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 2, 2014
A Dunkel from Suntory, can, picked up at Lawson 100 for 215 yen & served in a glass beer mug. It pours a hazelnut amber color with a thick beige head. Grainy sugary sweet malt nose with light caramel accents. The mouthfeel is smooth but on a slightly thin body. The tast is sweet but with a surprisingly solid roastiness, not so much roast coffee as roast nuts or pastries. Nutty sweet with light caramel. Pretty good for a macro.

Elegant dark amber color with decent head. Roasted malt aroma, chocolate. Malty flavor, roasted cocoa, bitter coffee, fairly clean finish. Quite a positive surprise, without being exceptional it gets close to a decent dark brew. KyotoLefty (10205) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 6, 2014
Can form a convenient store. Not sure if this is a dunkel or what. Pretty sure it’s a lager, know it’s dark amber, but it uses British malts... nice malty, roasty nose. rich malts, roasted and a bit burnt, but more amber then dark. caramel, light chocolate. Well balanced with a bitter finish. Good major.
