2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 6/20
I found this Caramel Brown to be a very enjoyable experience. Less sweet and sticky as the black beers. Pours nice with a soft brown head which unfortunately is short lasting. Appearance is lovely like Honey.
Nice rich taste very soft and smooth. I’ve made repeated purchases and it I don’t get tired of it. Could use a bit of hop intensity but overall I give it a nice thumbs up. This beer is best in a mug.

Clear copper color, small white head. Caramel, some ryeish maltyness. Light bodied, quite watery palate. Harsh maltyness, light caramel. Reminds me about Newcastle Brown Ale.
Lata bought at a local "suupaa" in Yanai-shi, Yamaguchi. Clear amber colour, small beige head. Sweet caramel malty aroma. Thin like mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, caramel and toastish malt. Thin like but ok. olio (10265) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 26, 2013

(Thanks Kim S!). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, fruits, some mild toffee and slight hoppy notes. Flavour is caramel, fruits, some wood and mild resiny notes. Balanced, but quite boring
Can. Didn’t mind this as much as other happoshu. Poured a pretty toffee-brown colour, with a thin head that disappeared quickly. Barely-there nose of caramel, some mediciney malt. Not over-fizzy, the palate was strong enough to have me enjoying it halfway through. May be something wrong with me, thought I detected almost Belgian beer-like flavoursome. Would have again in a pinch, easy on the wallet. mstockton (225) - Frankfurt, GERMANY - JAN 27, 2013
Bought at a 7-11 in Tokyo...I was taken in by the retro-looking can (the best part) and gave it a shot. Pours an amber color with little/no head. Some caramel aroma which is nice. Flavor is immediately carbonated with a sweeter backbone. Not a lot going on here and almost no hops. It’s not objectionable, but not memorable either. Not heavy so one could drink more than one if necessary!
