Lata. Clear amber colour, medium white head. Pleasant malty bit caramel and light fruit touch in the aroma. Good mouthfeel. Malty flavour with some caramel, medium bitterness.

Can. Definitely more than the sum of its parts, which according to the can, are "aroma beer" and "bitter beer". Some nice hints of caramel and fruit in the nose, and Suntory always seem to do a good job with malt. Fine carbonation, rich, smooth and tasty. Perhaps finishes a tad sweet, but still pretty solid. Can. Orange-amber color with a medium, fine head. Rich malt, caramel, some stone fruit, light hops. Decent malt flavor, caramel, cherry, bread. Light grassiness and fruitiness, pretty nice, peppery, prickly bitterness at the finish. A good beer for a major, and pretty interesting in approaching a Vienna. maekchu (3849) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 4, 2013
Can from Aeon Mall (Ibaraki) liquor shop. Meaty malt, with some fruitiness, and what really seems to be smoke. Dark amber, off-white head, some lace. Decent caramel and bittering / moves to sweetness in mid / bittering lingers for a moment. Medium body. Not bad at all. A surprise from Suntory (which made a number of interesting one-offs back in the late 90s, but which hasn’t been impressive in the interim). Strong caramel for a lager -- approaching the character of amber ale.
