Lata. Clear amber colour, small head. Caramel malty aroma, bit toasty like. Flavour: Good maltiness and caramel, bit sweet, toasty. JaKeAFC (1283) - ITALY - DEC 16, 2016
Can from family mart in shinjuku. Straight from can so didn’t see it. Aroma of pale lager mixed with schwarz, clean malts and caramel, fluffy foamy texture, medium body, mild alcohol, smooth finish. Was nicer than expectable, not bad at all eduardovl (1475) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 18, 2016

Clear deep amber brown colour; Two finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Small sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation; Aroma of Lager malt, with very notable roastyness, strong caramel, faint dark fruits, thick molasses, toffee, light brown sugar, strong dark bread, yeast, very light lemon and grass; Mid to strong sweet taste of lager and dark malt, with strong roastyness, strong caramel, toffee, strong molasses, light bread, yeast, light lemon, quite strong bitter hops and moderate grass; Mid to light body. Slick and thick palate; Mouth feel is, as advertised, a 50-50 mix of lager and dark malts. Good strong body, very thick to tongue with strong caramel and toffee, thick but pleasant molasses sweetness. Good light dark bread and yeast, quite fulfilling. Good!... Hoppiness is light lemon and grass in nose and taste. Bitterness is notably strong for an Amber, strong in taste but not quite enough to counter the sweetness for a long, sweet-bitter finish; Dry after taste. Easy and sweet to mouth.
Comments: I think this one succeeds in what it was supposed to deliver - a blend of Premium Lager (the regular Premium Malt’s) and Schwarz (the Premium malt’s Dark) to provide a rich and balanced Amber Lager mix - this tastes richer and more fulfilling than most macro Amber Lagers, and has a good booze level to excite. Very enjoyable!
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 Strong mouthfeel..........liquorice, malt, mild chocolate and mild hoppy bitterness. Remnants of the Premium malt’s...with less of a herbal taste. It is a stab at a dunkel but I think but comes across as a lager. I didn’t know it was a darker beer till I poured it out. Still very enjoyable however. yenbeer (188) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 17, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2015 2014: While much better than the regular Premium Malts, that doesn’t really say much. Something akin to cola.
2015: Smells bad, the palate and flavor don’t exactly impress. But, the aftertaste is rich in malty goodness. Worth it just for that. czlowiekwiadro (1109) - POLAND - MAY 7, 2014
przyjemny, ziołowo-karmelowy zapach. kolor ciemno-czerwony, pod światło rubinowy. piana beżowa, średnio trwała. w smaku pełne, karmelowe, wyczuwalny przypieczony chleb, goryczka dość niska, ale przyjemna petewhitley (570) - Nagoya, JAPAN - DEC 1, 2013
