0,5 bottle from local supermarket. Dark orange colour, big head. Almost came out of the bottle even after a week in a fridge. You can smell the hops. Similar to other bitters I have tasted, i.e. not really bitter but rather pleasant. Despite the name I don’t find the bitter style really as dry as IPA or pils. Might taste even better in a pub than your home watching TV.

Bottle 500ml. @ home on the terrace.

[ As Suomenlinnan Spithead Bitter ].
[ Trade by oh6gdx ]. Clear medium orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, grass, citrus - orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average duration, caramel, citrus - orange. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150706]

Bottle, BBE 01/04/15, thanks Gastjale. Pours orange with a small, off-white head. Aroma is caramel, somewhat flowery, fairly strong grain. Taste follows along the same lines though flowers and grain even stronger. Light with not much carbonation. Feels like a German take on a bitter or something. Pretty enjoyable really.

0.5 l bottle from the brewpub in Helsinki... Clear amber, quite red, color, average head, soft sparkling body... Nice bitterness of citrus, grapefruit and sour apple... For a real Bitter too soft, the Pilsener is even more bitter...

Drank from a bottle at home. The beer has a slightly bitter taste. It’s not bad but it’s a bit boring.

0,5l bottle from K-Market Jätkäsaari. Pours clear amber with a high head. Aroma is bitter malts. Flavor is pretty similar. Nice, if a bit ordinary.

Bottle 50cl @ Brygga. Pours slightly hazy orange, small white head. Toffee, fruits in the aroma. Smooth, fruity, toffee flavor.

Copper, semi clear beer with a foamy white head. Fruit and bread on the nose. Watery body. Bland carbonation. Some bitterness which grows in the after taste but does not impress. Bland and boring and frankly not that good. I am not a big fan of this style though.

Bottled. Coppery colour and a thick bubbly off-white head. Toffee malts on the aroma with some fresh hoppiness. Grainy malts in the flavour, toffee and a crisp hoppiness. A quite good attempt on bitter from Suomenlinna.
