UPDATED: NOV 8, 2017 Tap. Poured a clear pale color with good legs. Heavy earthy honey, wood and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium to heavy earthy honey and soft bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy complex sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Pleasing smooth alcohol burn. Standout mead.

Wow - surprised to see the (relatively) low scores on this one. I loved the balance of barrel and mead, and would have brought some home if they had it available. Light honey sweetness and apple with a touch of whiskey vanilla and oak from the barrel.

A blonde mead with aroma of sweet honey, light citrus, alcohol warmth and light woody notes. In mouth, a nice smooth mix of honey, bourbon barrel, light mineral notes, nice fruity esters, very nice. Bottle at meadery.

Bottle at Superstition, pours a clear yellow. Aroma brings out medium sweet honey, followed by wonderfully integrated bourbon notes, light smoke. Flavour is decadent as hell, with loads of bourbon and medium sweet honey in perfect harmony. Gentle body, with no hint of booze. Amazing.

Smells nicely of honey. Sweet, but less so than the two ciders. On the thinner side of meads. Very basic; okay.

Bottle at Woodshop 10. Clear white wine, faint yellow pour with great legs. Fruit juicy nose with white grape concentrate. Taste is drier than other Superstition meads with some baby powder in the end. Not enough sugar balance. Overall, it was probably my least favorite of theirs from the event.

Taster at whole foods Sedona. Didn’t realize this was bourbon barrel aged when I tried it. Pours a clear pale yellow. Completely still. Aromas are honey, light smoke, some vanilla. Taste is sweet

Porsche clear with a yellow tint. Honey on the nose. There aren’t many other aromas I’m picking up. Flavor is slightly sweet, dry, and smokey.

Sampled at the tasting room. Light, dry hay color that is perfectly still. Nose is woody, with bourbon, vanilla, and honey making their presence known. Flavor is a little heavy on the hard alcohol and is noticeable. Not a perfect marriage. Some of the elements conflict with one another. Decent but not one of their best!
