12oz Bottle: Pours clear gold with no head to speak of...odd. Aroma is very faint: Sweet malt and corn. Flavor has sweet malt and a bit of citrus. Lime maybe? Hard to tell, but citrus it is. Watery, bland...the usual for these beers. Steib (613) - Queen Creek, Arizona, USA - JAN 2, 2009
Nice head, very carbonated has a very light straw color. Has a decent malt aroma. Pale malt flavor almost soda like. Very clean and drinkable. Somewhat bland and boring. Break out the tacos. illidurit (2354) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 30, 2008
Poured into a pint glass. A firm pour produces a light gold body with a dense froth atop. Retention and lacing are well above average for a cheap lager. Aroma is grainy with a touch of lemony tartness and the customary adjunct corn syrup note. Flavor is the same but it’s actually worse to taste the lemon/corn syrup/grain profile than to smell it. Almost immediately becomes tiresome and is rather reminiscent of lemon lime soda. Body has a little more heft than the run of the mill adjunct lager. Clean aftertaste, nice level of carbonation. I’m always on the lookout for new country ratings so I had to go ahead and pick one of these up just to claim El Salvador. This is a super pale yellow pour with very little head. A little harsh, and a little metallic. Skunky. Not good. ansermadide (1526) - Kyle, Texas, USA - SEP 13, 2008
(Sample at September 12, 2008 Beer Club Meeting) First thing I hear from the club members (before I even have a chance to sample this) is "smells like feet". No, that’s not going to affect my rating at all. This one is even more clear than the other Latin American lagers I’ve sampled. Nice head, though. Kudos on that. It has a grainy aroma. In a strange way, I’m kinda drawn to this and I’m not sure why.

Sweet pale malt with a low hop profile, slightly skunky. Not bad but not worth the premium price. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 3, 2008
(12oz bottle) Medium white head atop lightly hazed pale straw body. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, light grain. Taste is medium sweet, corn, some grain, no bitterness. Light body. kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - JUL 1, 2008
Brighter yellow pour with half a glass of bleach white foam that recedes from the walls of the glass and forms an island in the middle. Bubbles are random and suspended. Aroma is sweet and malty. The flavor starts off balanced and ends a little sweet and sugary. Mouthfeel is near runny. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUN 28, 2008
12oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron Pours a clear, light golden color thin white head with patchy lacing. Light, slightly watery aroma, with some sugar, corn, and light white grape notes not bad, actually. Light-to-medium mouthfeel: solid amounts of basic sugar, corn, and basic white grape / floral notes not bad, actually, but slightly undercarbonated overall really not terrible. Medium finish: slightly skunky, stale malts, and basic sugars. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUN 12, 2008
Bottle courtesy of Daknole. Last stop – back to El Salvador. Pours a very carbonated gold with a rocky 3 finger white head and great lacing. Nose is surprisingly non-skunky given the green bottle. Light hops, malt and grain. Taste is corn, grain and a slight hop finish. Light mouth feel. An ok beer. Thanks Dakine for all of the Latin American brews – it’s been fun!
