JorisPPattyn (10118) - BELGIUM - NOV 24, 2007
Dense but small beige head over ruby-red shot, very dark beer. Very perfumey, almonds, alcohol & higher alcohols, sugars and roasted notes. Human sweat, sweet malts, liquorice, a bit of cypress flavour and loads of dark malts. Very creamy, velvety texture, well-bodied & alcohol warming. Sweet and thick. Not bad, but not really great beer.

SHIG (4965) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - DEC 17, 2007
Bottle Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a deep black with a thin tan head. The aroma is honey and liquorice. The taste is fruit with that similar liquorice taste, finished a warm alcohol.

Ungstrup (38941) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 27, 2008
Bottled at Kerstbierfestival 2007. A brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as medium notes of caramel and light notes of spices and a slight acidity.

Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - APR 9, 2009
Bottle. Pours a dark brune with a creamy tan head. Spicy fruity spritz pepper and apple aroma. Cinnamon and some yeasty spices. Sweet cane sugar with vinous hints and some apple like sweet and tart flavor. Some alcohol warming that is well masked by the spiciness and moderately sharp carbonation. Decent brew.

kermis (14958) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 16, 2013
Bottle sample at Essen Kerstbierfestival. Cloudy brown pour with a beige head. Aroma of toffee, fudge and boozy alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Overripe dark fruit aspects coming out in the palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

jspronck (162) - BELGIUM - DEC 26, 2014
Aromas of licorice and spices (maybe rosemary or thyme), thick texture, rich beer, long sweet and spicy finish, not a bad beer for a cold winter night

MoritzF (10199) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2013
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Dark malty, slightly leafy and sugary aroma with notes of caramel, liquorice and dried fruits, also alcohol is detectable. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Mildly roasted dark malt character with notes of liquorice, caramel and a tinge of fruit punch; sweet malty, liquorice- and yeasty spicy finish with warming alcoholic notes and hints of almonds/marzipan in the aftertaste. Not overly complex but satisfying. 8.I.13
