Bottle. Black with a medium head. Some hops with a slightly bitter finish. Struck me as being a cross between a dark ipa and a stout. Lovely. Brandman (2948) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 22, 2014
Just some comments due to social conversation: Black body, light brown head. Aroma has nice dark citrus hops and some medicine. minutemat (5529) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2014
Bomber @ the 9th Shrewsbury Bottle Share Oct 14, thanks to Paolo. Pours black with a foamy off-white head. Taste presents a bitter pine character with roasted malts and chocolate notes coming through. Decent. BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2014
22oz bomber, cheers Paolo: shared between four at the October 2014 Shrewsbury bottle swap. Poured a cloudy reddish amber with a brown/tan head. Roasted, toasted maltiness in the nose with a fruity bitterness from the hops. The taste was fruity and dry, as the aromas hinted at, with a restrained bitterness at first, the malt presence more roasty than sweet, so the beer seemed in limbo flavour wise. It however came to life mid-mouthful and the blending began to work, a pleasant Black IPA with enough going on to want another one. rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 6, 2014

Bomber from Total Wine in Huntington Beach, CA. Pours dark brown with a beige/tan head. Aroma seems pine over roast/burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is malty, chocolate, pine (or perhaps citrus). Decent version. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - AUG 24, 2014

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a nearly pitch black colored brew with a one finger cream colored head. The head fades over a moderate amount of lime to leave a fair level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a roasted malt and semi-sweet chocolate smell. Mixed with these are some sweet caramel as well as a lighter floral and citrus hop.
Taste – The taste begins with a smoother roasted malt and chocolate taste. Hints of a caramel sweetness are up front which fade more over time as flavors of a pine and citrus hop begin coming to the tongue. The citrus remains relatively light while the pine gets stronger to the end, where a earthy hop joins the flavor to leave a moderately hopped roasted flavor are linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer has a medium amount of creaminess and a slightly lower level of carbonation. It is quite nice for the moderate hop level as well as roasted flavors of the brew as it creates a very soothing feel on the tongue.
Overall – A very tasty, rather moderately hopped, black IPA. It is a good blend of a black ale, with nice roasty flavor with hints of sweetness, and hop. Theydon_Bois (19510) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2014
Bottle split at Bruce’s parlour, big thanks to fellow CDA Bro - LKS.
Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent sized light tan cap that dissipates to a thin covering.
Nose is dark red berry fruit, light roast, earthy cocoa, dark toffee fudge, pine linger, earthy hop.
Taste comprises red berry fruit, cocoa rub, pine bite, light smoke, hint of spice, earthy hop bitterness in a semi drying close with fine carbonation.

Bottle from Marketplace Alehouse and Deli, Doncaster. Clear, dark, reddy brown. Tidy, lasting, sticky, tan head. Chocolatey malt. Fusty pine. Light, ripe orange. Hint of blackcurrant. Taste is cocoa dry, with a pine bitterness. A little dark chocolate sweetness, too. Plenty of body, with a touch of booze. Finish sets off quite dry, with a lengthy bitterness turning woody. Bit dry, but very decent.
