sampled under the cast tent at GTMW 2010... hazy orange juice pour with quite a large soapy white head... big cedar wood aroma with a lightly added hoppiness... flavors had more of that saison interplaying with a saison yeast strain as well as other typical saison fruit flavor profile. pretty nice. Sampled at GTMW ’10 via Real Ale tent. Pours a hazy dirty golden colored brew with a creamy and fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin ring and little lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, vanilla, a hint of honey, lemon zest and floral hops. Taste is where some of the cedar aging came out but very light. Flavors also included some banana esters, yeast, vanilla and golden grain malt. Finish is fruity, semi-dry with a yeast and vanilla aftertaste. blutt59 (6565) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 20, 2010

(Draught) Pours a cloudy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of banana, grass, florals, cedar, vanilla ice cream, and caramel. Flavor of florals, grass, citrus, banana, and some biscuit with a dry, bitter finish. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - AUG 16, 2010
Sampled on tap at the GTMW ’10 (Madison, WI) in the Real Ale Tent. Pours a murky golden pour, glowing with a huge frothy eggshell white head. Aromas are crisp hoppy citrus and florals, spicy cedar, banana esters and lemon, crisp cereal grains, vanilla, honey, and big floral hops. Initial is lighter bodied, well floral hopped with some spicy cedar, vanilla, white pepper, floral hops are pretty big. Nice, light, the cask really makes this smooth and flavorful. Big hops and good florals, a touch of pear and apple, touch of Belgian yeasty spice works well with the cedar. Tasty and spicy, the cedar wins me over and the fresh dry hopping provides flavorful hop oils, bitterness, and I’m a sucker for base CynicAle as it is. Extra point for making it into my Top 3 Beers of GTMW 2010.
