COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this beer in honor of two-faced Janus who peers both ahead and behind. A Belgian-style Quad Ale honors the past while 100% Brett-fermented wheat beer looks towards the future. Blended together, Eleven exists in a purely liminal space.

75CL. Thanks AFH! dark reddish orange 2 finger thick yellowish-white head. The smells is like pear and apple and banana all combined with a lot of bread dough. nice mouthfeel, light, oily, the flavor..it finishes with a really herbal like clove heavy finish. very bready, apple, pears, nice funk! delicious.

Pours barely translucent caramel with a thin beige head. Aroma features tart pomme fruit and a hint of fresh malt. Flavor offers toasted malt, caramel, cinnamon and tart pomme tones. Mouthfeel delivers good body and fair fizz. Don’t be surly, enjoy.

22oz bomber pour. Full carbonation when poured then dissipates to thin white lacing. Aroma of wheat, dates, cherries, small citrus, with Brett fermentation. Murky reddish/brown coloring like a typical good quad. Taste replicates the aromas. Very good hybrid styling from Surly. Must try Eleven. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty good for a quad. Spice and red wine present in the nose and taste. Finish is warm and clean.

Bottle pours a clear deep ruby brown with a large khaki head. Aroma of sweet caramel toffee malt, scotch tape, banana, berries, with cinnamon like Belgium yeast esters. Taste of dry hops and Brett upfront become moderately more sweet caramel toffee malts, dates, light banana and Belgian yeast, with a light toast. Interesting and complex, but all in all, not my thing.

4 oz. pour, on tap at Surly Beer Hall (the brewery’s taproom) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Consumed on 6-7-17. Hazy, dark brown with beige head. Looks good. Juicy, fruity, caramel, toffee, strong Belgian ale aroma. Nice and strong smell. Really good, strong, Brett and malty flavor. Rarely have I had this big of a beer with Brett but this works well. Leathery and lemony. Complex taste. Medium body, light for the ABV. Lively and crisp in the palate. Refreshing. Smooth. Really good palate effects. A good marriage of two good underlying beers. 7.4.8.4.16=>3.9

Dark brown. Sticky Belgian nose. Toasted malt candy, and a touch of brett. Some sweet and toasty with Belgian yeast, and fruit. Leather and mild pineapple brett in the finish.
