4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark brown with brown head tha dissipates immediately. The aroma is sour cherries, red wine, and oak. The taste is quite sour with some oak and a hint of roast. Pretty nice sour.
Pours a deep brown with soft off white head. Tart winey aroma. Soft, sweet, bubblegum, wine, lightly tart. Overpriced.
Notes: on tap at the brewery, Super Bowl weekend ‘18. ineedbeer (2358) - Oakland, California, USA - NOV 30, 2016
Poured from a 750 ml bottle.
Aroma is fairly fruity with cherries, raisins, figs, prunes and berries. Some light red wine notes. Toffee, caramel, toasted bread and hints of chocolate. Hints of alcohol and acidity.
Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium sized, fairly thick, dark tan head that recedes very quickly to a thin film that hangs around on the edges for quite a bit. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is somewhat acidic with moderately strong fruit notes and some lighter malt character. Lots of cherry and raisin with lighter berry, cassis, plum and prune and fig notes. Light notes of caramel, toffee, toasted bread and chocolate. Light oak notes and low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a better beer than I was expecting. I don’t generally like dark sours so I was expecting the worst considering how dark the beer is, but its actually really nice and drinkable. Acidity is pretty light, but present and its very fruity. koleminer20 (4385) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUN 10, 2016
From notes. Enjoyed this one at the Brew Crew Bash in Ann Arbor on May 21. This one was poured from a 750 mL bottle. The pour on this is incredibly dark for a sour/wild. The pour looks like Coke. There is a dark brown body with a lighter tan cap of slowly fading foam that recedes to a thick and chunky collar. The aroma is pretty good. There is a lot of dark fruits. Cherries, plums, and raisins definitely do a lot of the controlling here. There is a Bretty funk that doesn’t really seem to fit in with the fruits or the malts that are present. There is a bit of a roastiness that just doesn’t mesh well with the sour aspect. It’s not bad by any means, it’s just messy. The flavor is Brett from the start. There is an earthy hop and malt addition and the fruits struggle to break through the bite of the Brett. The cherry does get through on the back end, but it’s almost like there is a bit of chocolate with it there. The mouth feel is pretty decent. It’s definitely thicker than a sour should be. The carbonation is a little soft, but just bubbly enough to keep it interesting. The aftertaste is lingeringly fruity and tart, with a maltiness that creeps in. It’s interesting, but I’m glad I didn’t have to drink an entire bottle of this. Benzai (17005) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 4, 2016

Bomber shared at tasting. Dark brown pour with minimal head. Nice acidic sour ,very similar to pentagram. Taste follows. Can tell there’s a little age. Very tasty still.

Bottle tasted at a hotel share in Athens, OH. So, this is definitely tasting pretty sour right now. Some dark chocolate, vinous character. Dark brown color. Thin tan head, some loose bits of lace. Some vinegar. Cbocolate, grape, dark fruit. I dunno, Yeah it’s brett and sour and dark. Not bad but not loving the end result here. neepsntatties (2098) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 15, 2015
Bottle shared by "hannont". Colour...dark brown with a slight garnet hue. Nose...moderately acetic and very fruity, especially stone fruits. Palate...nicely tart and delightfully fruity with loads of peach, plum skin and apricot stems. The mid palate is funky and dry and still quite fruity. The finish is long and bitter and pit like.
