On tap at the brewery. Poured clear golden, with a nice white head and some lacing. Aroma of pine and tropical fruit. Bitter taste, dry, well balanced by malts and fruit notes. Nice beer, very enjoyable.

On tap at the source. Cannot have Todd, then any other hoppy brew ... This one comes across smoothly malty with a solid hop presence. But, as stated - after Todd. 14.2

July 16, 2015 - on tap at Surly. Orange pour with some head. Aroma was malt with fruity and piney hops. Taste was consistent with aroma, but pine was a bit stronger than fruit in finish.

10 oz. pour, on tap at Surly Beer Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Consumed on 7-1-15. Pours a bright, clear, orange/gold/brass. Slow-rising bubbles; light effervescence. Moderate amount of nearly white head. Good lacing. Looks good. Citric aroma. Orange, orange peel, pineapple, and tropical fruit scents. Also pine in the smell. The aroma improves upon multiple sips. Dank, hoppy flavor features a gym locker component. Cream, even vanilla bean in the flavor. Pine needles, chalk, and dirt in the finish. The flavor is not as strong as I would prefer. Remarkably divergent aroma and flavor effects; both are quite hoppy, but that hoppiness manifests itself in very different forms. Long, dirt-like aftertaste. Very lively and crisp in the palate. I really enjoy the great liveliness. Medium body. Overall, this is a quite good IPA although not a standout by Surly’s high standards. I’m somewhat disappointed, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if this came from almost any other brewery; in fact, I’d be reasonably to quite impressed.

Slightly hazy bright orange pour with a white head and white lacing. Citrus with a hint of pine in the nose. Some citrus and pine in the taste with a nice tropical fruit finish into a nice bitter citrus rind finish. Pretty nice!
