_angst_ (4810) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 6, 2015
Draught @ CBC 2015. Pours hay pale golden with a frothy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity estery, tiny spicy phenolic and slightly funky with crackers, white bread, ripe apples, red pears, hay, dry soil, barnyart, white pepper corns, grape skins and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, tiny sour, fruity estery, tiny spicy phenolic and slightly funky. Mouthfeel is soft, tiny dry, tiny trt and medium bodied. Finish is sweet, and slightly sour with white bread, red pears, grape must, hay, dry soil, leather, barnyard, white sugar, grape skins and lemon zest. Not too impressed with this one. I want my saison crisper and drier. This actually gets slightly cloying...

Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 8, 2015
Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Cloudy orange-gold color with a medium thick off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of oak, yeast, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of funky citrus, yeast, oak and biscuit malt. The finish is vinous oak and funky yeast. Pretty good overall.

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2015
Tap at Magic Rock’s Rainbow Project launch. Hazy orange shade. Ring of white head. Aroma is really juicy with some added herbal and grassy notes. Slight buttery malt and juicy fruity taste. Big and enjoyable barrel notes. This is pretty tasty indeed.

juffage (171) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2015
On keg at Magic Rock Tap, Rainbow Project 2015. Although I spent the day drinking mostly sour/bret beers (they were way overrepresented!), this one still stands out in my mind as being very good. Large Sauvingon Blanc flavour, white wine grapes and bretty acidic tart aftertaste. Sweet, fruity, grassy and soft. Slight oak. BBQ sauce & orange marmalade in the aftertaste. Yeah boyyeeeeeee.

On tap: The aroma consists of citrus, lemon peel, faint apple, and a hint of florals. It’s a hazy amber with a small white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with citrus and a touch of cotton candy. The finish has light lemon peel, herbal notes, spice, and faint florals, and oak. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation.
