UPDATED: OCT 10, 2016 Fantastic barrel funk aroma. Light hazed golden with solid white head. Moderate funky (dulled by the wood) with a soft carbonation. Hits at tart, without getting there; a bit winey, woody.

On keg at Magic Rock Tap, Rainbow Project 2015. Although I spent the day drinking mostly sour/bret beers (they were way overrepresented!), this one still stands out in my mind as being very good. Large Sauvingon Blanc flavour, white wine grapes and bretty acidic tart aftertaste. Sweet, fruity, grassy and soft. Slight oak. BBQ sauce & orange marmalade in the aftertaste. Taproom. Slightly hazy amber color with a thin head. Aroma of honey, grape must, vanilla, and flowers. Tart grape flavor mixed with dusty grains and dried flowers. Kind of like a pinot gris. Draft at Brouwer’s, Seattle. Pours a burnished copper, little to no off white head, decent amount of lacing. Aroma rich, yeasty, funky, tart. Plenty of Brett in this baby. Body lively, some tartness, finish somewhat subtle. Top-class American Saison along the lines of Logsdon or Anchorage.

Really happy to see this on at the Surly Taproom after missing it at GTMW. Slightly hazy light orange pour. A bit of a white head. Nose is slightly grape and slightly wooden. Great Brett character in the taste, slightly funky, slightly sour, finishing with lingering bitterness and sourness. One of my new favorites from Surly! Draft at Red Cow for Surly Tap Takeover. Sweet and sour nose. Livery assertive aroma. Hazy to murky gold. Quite a bit of funk and considerable sourness. Really nice finish. Outstanding funky saison.
