Slightly hazy orange-tinged gold color, frothy white head. Mild citrus and grapefruit, but dominated by hay and caramel as it’s almost 5 months old. The malty sweetness is restrained despite the age. Smooth, a bit of hop oiliness, and a resinous bitter finish. johnnymusky (1004) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 6, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2014 another fantastic beer from surly....perfect hops and citrus combination...tons of flavor...nice slightly bitter finish.....the guys at surly can make a great beer! That1Guy (2237) - Colorado, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Can packaged in December. Yeah, it’s a bit oxidized. I’ll rerate with a fresh one. Still holding up pretty well. Lots of linalool on the nose. with some sherry oxidation. As to be expected. Still a good hoppy flavor, but a bit of that trans 2 is coming through. Pretty nice. backdaft (286) - Menasha Red Light District, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 25, 2014
Can courtesy of aetheon. Pours a clear golden color. Thin white head and minimal lacing. Aroma is quite resinous and piney with a good bit of citrus. Taste is bitter, resinous, grapefruit-like hops. Medium bodied and nicely carbonated. The finish has a nice dry lingering bitterness. Very very nice IPA! umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - FEB 23, 2014
16 oz can thanks to Rightcross55. 12/31/13 canning date. Pours hazy gold with a huge rocky head that fades very slowly and leaves chunky lacing. Aromas are pine, wet grass, light citrus, and light tropical fruit. Taste is just dry, bitter hops. Pine, citrus, flowers and grass. Very light malty sweetness in the dry finish. Mouthfeel is a bit foamy too, it’s a little over-carbonated. Not really my kind of IPA but still pretty solid.

Yellow creamy white pour with white head and lace. Aroma is large citrus hops. Light semi sweet malt start with a nice citrus hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation. from a can I would give a nickel to try it on tap really fresh:) chinchill (5313) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 10, 2014
Poured from can with a large bone-colored head over a clear amber body. Excellent lacing.
A surprisingly restrainted flavor follows a strong hoppy nose that has piney, herbal, weedy and grassy elements. The flavor is a bit metallic and dank.
Feel: Medium body and carbonation.

Loving surly back in Chicago. Poured from a can at sheffields. Clear orange with sticky white head. Fresh fruit basket smell. Light on the hops and bitterness but makes up for it with the citrus floral yumminess. Good
