Thanks card04 for this; it was much appreciated after quite a while of rating crappy euromacros from the Kenora LC. Light amber body with white head that doesn’t last too long but leaves some nice lacing. Aroma of pine, sweet grains, molasses, a little resinous. Taste is nicely bitter but unlike the sarcastic description it does have a nice sweet balance to it as well. Another quality brew from Surly. cards04 (2809) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 30, 2013
A great ipa. Aromas of dank resin and citrus. Some pineapple too. Nice peach pour with full bodied mouth feel. Flavours are sweet citrus and tropical fruit followed by a bracing spicy hop bitterness. Awesome. maekchu (3917) - Hirakata, JAPAN - AUG 30, 2013
Draught at the Surly Taproom. Big citrusy nose, with a lot of peach jam. Dark straw color. Good balance in initial / hops certainly dominate the mid palate / severe bitterness in final. Very nice. Nearly as good as Furious, with somewhat less body. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2013

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Light haze on this gold - amber beer. Small pale cream coloured head. Softish palate, fine carbonation. Nice hops - rich floral orange and orange marmalade. Touches of lemon and grapefruit. Sweetish pine. Whisper of peach and hop spice. Finishes semi dry. Well integrated and very tasty.
Solid effort. Nice citrus hoppiness balanced out with some sweet malt. Super drinkable.

Tap @ GTMW 13.
Pour is clear yellow, with a small frothy white head.
Aroma is fruity/juicy hops, slight tropical fruits, citrus and a light malty/caramel backbone.
The taste has some sweet notes up-front, with a nice amount of hoppy bitterness from the middle and out.
Average body, with a slightly fizzy carbonation.

Pours orange with a sweet piney aroma. Starts bitter them a soapy sweet hop flavor. Needs more hops to be called West Coast.

Draft pour at GTMW 2013. Pours gold with a big eggshell white head. Notes of lemon and grapefruit citrus, pine, fresh ground-up herbs, and plenty of florals. Some balancing caramel and pale malts. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Really nice, refreshing IPA. hoffback (37) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - AUG 19, 2013
Doften är ganska tam men med inslag av tropiska frukter och något sötare jag inte kan sätta fingret på. Även en aning maltig doft. Smaken är besk, fruktig likt citrus och även ganska maltig. Kort eftersmak. nuplastikk (6289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2013
16oz can. Hazy bright orange-yellow-tan body, Frothy, soapy white head. Bright, oily citrus aroma, similar taste. A really well done IPA, it is pretty West Coast tasting. The hops are quite resinous, oily. Quite balanced despite all the funny talk, toasty golden malt tones. Has some of that nice fresh garlicy hop character that you find in really fresh beers. Well done.
