Its been said; "Its easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer." And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale. "Surlys a little bit of a one-trick pony, they just brew gimmick beers," and maybe we are OVERRATED, but at the end of the day, its just a beer. If you like it, great, so do we. If you only liked us when we were small, then leave this one on the shelf. Let one of the fanboys grab it.

Pours a clear medium gold with a firm and slow shrinking head of foam. Notes of grapefruit and pine with a very wee bit of bread in the smell. So hoppy with nare a sign of any malt. Plenty of grapefruit some pine yet, to me, mild but ample bitterness. Nice mouthfeel and great drinkability. A treat.

From 16oz can, gift from friend, poured into 16oz tulip

Aroma: citrus, pine, floral

Appearance: golden, slight haze, big frothy off-white head

Taste: light sweet, heavy bitter

Palate: medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, bitter dry finish

Overall: An exceptional hoppy Extra-IPA. A little lacking on the body and complexity, but in the same vein as other DIPA hop bombs. Nice American hops with citrus and pine. Nice bitter and dry finish. Its great for a hop bomb IPA, if thats what youre looking for.

Many thanks to ThirstyBird for this can! Nice floral nose. The beer starts floral with malty hints. Quite neutral bitter with not too much floralness there. The intense resin bitter aroma dominates the picture, the floral level is low, but it is easy to drink. Bitter-fresh and a bit neutral-malty ending. I miss floral fresh hops or other nice aroma. This one is surely over rated!

Pours a cloudy dark golden orange color with bright tangerine colored edges and a two finger white foam head. Excellent retention, slowly settling into a thick, lasting cap/ring that coats the glass with large streaks and chunks of soapy lacing on its way down. Impressive. Dank juicy hop aroma with a nice balance of earthy resins, fresh cut grass, juicy tropical/citrus fruit and pale malt. Fresh kind bud and pine needle resins countered by prominent tropical/citrus fruit hop character. Very strong grapefruit presence along with mango, blood orange, melon and candied orange fruit slices. Faint summit onion/soap character. Subtle malt backbone with hints of caramel, bread, biscuit and cracker. Medium body with a blast and dry, earthy bitterness that lingers over the sweeter hop notes and pale malts into a dry finish. Dank buds and oily reins along with pine needle and spruce tip but this beer never becomes overpowering or too bitter. Theres the perfect amount of luscious fruit sweetness with hints of ruby red grapefruit, melon, pineapple, blood orange and candied fruit. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit goodness perfectly balancing out the bitterness. This is rounded out by faint malt backbone with some caramel sweetness, biscuit and grainy graham cracker. Very well balanced with great complexity and a delicious flavor profile. Not sure what the ABV is but this beer is incredibly crushable. Awesome beer!
