Cloudy reddish/brown pour with a super thin head that hangs around the edge of the glass. Aroma is tart, some berries & cherries with a little oak. Mouth is light, but the taste is pretty complex. On tap at ABV Social in Wauwatosa. Unclear muddy brownish pour. Excellent sweet & sour nose; cherry, oak, other berries. Taste is of tangy oak, tart stone fruits led by the cherry, sweet barrel. The nose is so strongly wild, while the taste brings the barrel sweetness more into play. Both well done. Finishes tangy sour, slightly yeasty farmhouse-y, along with barrel. Bottled purchased at Beertopia, Omaha, NE. Gold wax, Bottled date of 06/27/16. Deep brown with ruby highlights around the edges. Aroma is mild red wine, mild funky oak, light whiskey. Flavors whiskey right up front turning into a Bretty funk in the center. Red wine rounds out the flavors in the finish. Also has a little bit of astringent oak. Sampled from the tap at the 2017 Minnesota Winterfest. Pours a near clear deep amber with a tan had that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sour red fruits, some acid and a backbone of earthy grains and a barrel. Shared gold waxed, 750 ml. bottle poured to a snifter, showing a cloudy, brownish amber color, with a presentable layer of tan head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was subtle funk, tartness, caramel, dried fruit, spice, with hints of barrel, and induced vanilla. Medium+ bodied, with like notes, the tartness continued in the flavor, along with some malty sweetness, and a touch of warmth. Aroma has booze and a touch of vinegar and funk. Poured a copper-brownish with white head. Nice balsamic edge with some dull woody character; just the right amount of tartness. Outstanding.
