750 ml bottle shared by someone in the group. Pours a dark cola like brown with a small beige head. The aroma has tart dark fruits, cherry, woody notes, dark caramel with some funk. The flavor has thick dark caramel, tart black cherry, wood, other dark fruits and some funk. The finish gets a bit soft which was somewhat disappointing. Still very good. jc1762 (1472) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 7, 2016
Tap into a snifter showing moderately filtered dark wine red with sparse latte colored foam.
The nose shows a mix of brett funk and a strong red wine profile (think goose berry and boysenberry)
The palate is moderately carbonated and light bodied. Bretty funk for an instant on the attack then afterwards, red wine tannins and dark berry flavors become very quickly apparent. Bitterness on the finish shows the same red wine flavor profile with bright oak also apparent in the background. Lightly tart, the finish also shows a drying tannic edge. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 1, 2016
Draft. Medium beige head atop red-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, Brett/cherry, some sourness, light caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, sour cherry, light lemon, Brett. Light-medium body, some acidity, light stickiness. Skinnyviking (9584) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 31, 2016
Draught at Koelschip. High light brown lasting head. Hazy very dark brown body. Sweet and sour caramel brett aroma and flavor with a low carbonation and a long bitter sweet finish. Less sour than expected. ebone1988 (1968) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - MAY 28, 2016
Bottle shared with koleminer20, Gus, and others at the Beernanza. Aroma is wine, sour, tart, barrel, a weird moldiness, eh. Appearance is red brown, light tan head, clear. Taste is barrel, wine, sour, funk, some mold, eh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, woody aftertaste. Overall, this one is just ok.

On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Sour and spicy, with notes of red fruit and grapes. Some brett notes perfectly integrated into the beer. martin00sr (4084) - Haderslev, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2016
Tap @CBC16. Clear dark copper. Dark, sour aroma. Dark berries. Sweetish berry flavour and a good deal of sourness too. Blackberry and cherry perhaps. Nice. MetalNHopHead (2014) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - MAY 17, 2016
"He is / He’s the shining in the light / Without whom I cannot see" - Ghost. Surly’s Pentagram is the result of dark arts and fermentation. The aromas are oaky, horsey, funky, and fruity. It boasts a flavor profile with sour/rotten cherry, sour/vinous grape, musty ribes, dark berry, wood, tobacco, and balsamic vinegar. Feel is tart, dry, and somewhat lively. A damn good example of the darkened Sour. "The guidance of the morning star / Will lead the way / Into the void." HuskerTan (2211) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - MAY 15, 2016
A- Sour cherry, subtle funk.
A- Reddish brown color, hazy liquid, minimal head.
T- Slightly sour, tart, subtle funk, oak, sour cherry.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish.
O- Certainly not worth the price of admission at $23 a a bomber but fair. Not too much Brett funk but instead a decent overtone of sour cherry and oak. The wine barrels impart a subtle flavor addition but it’s not overwhelming. Tastes more like a Sour red/brown. ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - MAY 14, 2016
