On tap at the Map Room. Pours a ruby and crimson hued brown with a medium sized beige and tan head. Toast, light roast, malt, and a little lemon. Malty, lightly tart, as if there was some acidulated malt in there. Light coffee and cocoa. Finishes dry with some toast and a bit more roast. Decent brown, but not mind boggling. Probably better than an average brown, but not what I think of in terms of quality when I think of Surly.

On tap at SPSBF. Pours a clear deep red with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some dark grains with a bit of smokiness and a backing earthing oak note. Pours reddish black with thin off white head, aroma is fairly lacking but has some notes of oak and dark fruit. Taste up front is biscuity and bready malt, going into a bit of dark fruit sweetness that finishes a bit smoky and dry from the oak.
