Continuing our quest to despoil and desecrate conventional beer styles, were raiding Trappist traditions to produce this Belgian Style Ale brewed with Rye, Oats and Wheat. Our first beer EVER brewed with Wheat! Belgian yeast creates classic clove-spiced banana aroma and flavor. Dry hopping brings floral and citrus aromatics to the biscuity-smooth malt body.

Bottle: Dark amber, thick, a bit dirty, minor sediment floats about, small to moderate frothy white head, little lacing. Big bready aroma, sweet, some banana and clove. Comes across as an American made Tripel to some degree. Not too bright on the tongue, very bready, a bit doughy, with spices of banana and clove. Feels heavy without being thick. Has a bit of a citrusy finish, bready, even doughy. Alcohol is there throughout, but its not harsh or heavy, but very warming. I guess thats what you get with 12.5% ey? Decent, but very American for a Belgian Strong Ale. Thanks Bob!

Orange pour, mostly white head. A sweet and boozy mess. Overly sugary sweet, some rotten banana flavors, candy sugar, honey. No thanks.

Bottle... Poured amber with a mild head. Aroma of Belgian yeast spices and fruits. Malt grains and sweetness with some fruit and honey earthiness, Some esters and spicing too. Smooth, drinkable and a some alcohol in the finish.

Bottle shared @ Daks Black Friday tasting. Dark burnt tangerine pour with a small eggshell head. Candied citrus, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, and a noticeable amount of alcohol. Just nothing terribly noteworthy about this brew. Sweet, hot, and thick. Meh.

Poured from a bottle in to a snifter tasting glass. Aroma - Very complex. Some smell I was able to detect were banana, bread, dates, floral and spices. Appearance- Pours light brown, orange, like color. There was about a 2 inches of head with nice lacing. Good carbonation. Once settled in the glass the beer has a amber color. Taste- Oats, caramel, fruit, and spices. Palate- Medium to full body. Again like the smell it is complex with a slight sweetness and tartness finish. Overall- A very strong Belgian beer with a big twist. Someone who likes strong beer this is a great beer. A Belgian with a twist.
