Continuing our quest to despoil and desecrate conventional beer styles, we’re raiding Trappist traditions to produce this Belgian Style Ale brewed with Rye, Oats and Wheat. Our first beer EVER brewed with Wheat! Belgian yeast creates classic clove-spiced banana aroma and flavor. Dry hopping brings floral and citrus aromatics to the biscuity-smooth malt body.

Bottle at RBSG. From notes. Kinda underwhelmed with this one. Boozy with a bit of funk. I liked it, but I think it was a bit too hyped up so I was expecting more.

750mL bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a fairly clear dark copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, some chemical notes, and slight fruits. Flavour brings out lots of Belgian yeast, some alcohol, very subtle dry fruits, and some bready malts. Very yeasty and fairly hot, though the burn is not reminiscent of 12.5%. Solid stuff, but nothing very special about it.

(750ml bottle) clear, medium copper, offwhite bubbles. Cinnamon, alcohol, clove, Belgian yeast, warming, alcoholic palate finish, medium body.

Came across this in a very unassuming liquor store in Albertville minnesota when one of the clerks saw me perusing the tiny craft beer selection. I don’t know how he knew I’d be a beer snob. But he came up to me holding a bottle of this. He said we have four bottles in the back and he figured I’d appreciate this. 20 Bucks later I had me this gem. Pours a nice amber with white head. Sweet candy, caramel, and some banana aromas. Boozy flavours with nice hop presence. Sweet candy and caramel. A sipper to say the least. Excellent.

750 ml bottle. Pours deep amber/copper color with a fairly quick tight foamy khaki head that diminishes to a sudsy film and collar. Aroma is sweet fruity with biscuit bread and bright fruit like banana and apricot and caramel there is a lot going on in the aroma! Taste has a quick bitter bite and flows right into bread biscuit some cookie dough and spice with fruity notes and sweet caramel malt and yeast. Palate is full with a fizzy carbonation and warming booze and finishes chalky and dry. Pretty complex, and quit enjoyable!

On tap at 2013 GTMW, why did I keep coming back to this tent? Pours an amberish red with an off white head, the aroma is once again full of booze with a little bit of funk mixed in with this one, the flavor has some decent spices on the front end with some hops and citrus in the finish, still really boozy through out the drink though, once again, most of this hit the ground.

Bottle. Dark copper with a frothy off white head. Aroma is slightly funky and yeasty with dark fruit notes. Taste is incredibly boozy but has nice dark fruit and a little clove and citrus. Palate is full with a sharp boozy bite at the end. This is huge an tasty but the booziness stops it from being amazing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber/reddish pour with a small white head. Smells like sugar, booze, dark fruit, and pear. Some apple, grass, and a bit of glue. Meh. The flavor is extremely sweet. Sauternes, apple, pear, and sugar. Somewhat grassy, a bit of solvent, booze, and raisins.

Chill surly ticks offered by both the alum as well as another pal. Thanks for this high boost brew. Deep caramel fruit roll up toasted brown sugar sweetness. Some booze. Sticky. A touch to big for my liking. Kind of knocks you over the head than finesses through to the finish. The boost offered was accepted.
