Can poured into a globe. A bit old but still plenty good. Reviewed from notes.

A - Pours golden orange with a thin bubbly half finger tall white head, dissipating down to next to nothing, leaving small wisps of lacing down the glass.
S - A bit muted now but still plenty of grassy citric hops are present. As the hops fade they are being overtaken by the strong toasty malt and crisp citric fruits. A bit old but still very nice.
T - Nice light citric hop bite up front mixes well with the lightly toasted caramel malt and ripe citric fruits. Finish is bitter but it doesn’t linger on the pallet for very long. This stuff is good. I would love to get a few fresh cans of this next year.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Nice smooth feel with good balance. Finish is bitter but it doesn’t linger for very long.
D - Very high. I really enjoyed this one. Surly easily makes the best hoppy beers in a can that I have ever had. I will definitely have to get some fresh cans of this next year.
Pours a clear orange/gold with a huge 2 finger sticky head.
Smell is of fresh citrus and some caramel malt. A little bit of pine, but citrus and tropical fruits dominate.
Citrus hits the palate first. A tiny bit of caramel in the middle and finishes dry with a little resin. Good flavor, but honestly a little underwhelmed. Was expecting a lot more intense flavors from the nose.
Feels a little lighter than expected although carbonation levels are good.
Not a bad beer, but doesn’t really wow me the way some other fresh hop stuff has. An American yeast strain may have done a better job of supporting the hops.

2013, aroma not the punch I thought it would deliver. Appearance, filteted and light in color. Very hoppy and bitter bite, very smooth after taste. Its missing one layer of flavor, but still it seems to grow as you drink. shghn (7) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 26, 2013 does not count
Simply one of the best IPAs I've ever tasted. Had one the same day it was canned in September 2011. Super fresh citrus and dank resinous aroma. All of the best qualities of hop flavor in an extreme quantity - tangerines, pineapple, fresh cannabis, and grapefruit bitterness all surprisingly well balanced with just enough sweet malt backbone to lead into a clean, very pleasant finish that you never want to end. Classic.

Easily my favorite IPA. I know it’s a fresh hopped/wet hopped beer but this is as dank as some of the better West Coast IPA’s like Nelson and Duet etc. The 100% citra batch this past year was pungent and full of tropical fruit aromas while maintaining a nice dank presence.
Can’t wait for this year’s batch with 100% Simcoe. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2012
Last year, old notes.
One of the best beers I have ever had. Incredibly fresh/hoppy flavor. The 100% citra hops killed it. Love this beer! wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 14, 2012
From notes at last year’s Darkness Day. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Nose is dank and floral citrus hop aromas. Flavor again lends dank, citrus, and resinous intensities with a milt biscuit malt richness. Mild bitterness, dry, and drinkable.
