COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
The flagship beer is pale in colour with a subtle hint of grapefruit and lemon in the aroma. The wonderful hop bitterness is complemented by a balanced malt flavour. The beer has a long finish, which is moderately dry.

ThirstyBird (2997) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2017
On cask at GBBF 2017. Pours a clear deep gold with a tan head. The aroma is toasted grain and hay. The taste is grass, hay, toasted malt with dry crisp end with some bitterness. Very smooth mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

BeardedAvenger (1128) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUN 13, 2017
Cask at White Hart, Chobham. Light malty aroma. Medium amber. Thin blotchy white head. Light bitter. This then gives way to a caramel sweetness with malty tones. Although I found the bitterness grew in prominence as I drank more. Light-medium bodied. On the thin side. Soft carbonation. Long finish. Did not remember what I’d thought of it previously but a better than average non-twiggy pint.

booldawg (70) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2017
This beer is up there in my top 5. One I always go for if I see it on tap in a pub or festival. Everything a traditional English ale should beer, well balanced, refreshing, full of character. Excellent stuff!

Cask at The Trafalgar, South Wimbledon, London in Apr 2017 - Deep Amber Gold in colour. Medium foamy white head. Good lacing. Citrus aroma. Good hop bitterness, grassy hops. Grapefruit and lemon citrus fruity. Sweet malts, caramel. Slightly syrupy. Moderately bitter hoppy and citrus fruity. Dry finish. Very drinkable. Nice bitter in excellent condition. (2017-04)

Grumbo (3978) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2017
Bottle from Inn at Home, Guildford. Pours bright golden amber with a small off white head. Aroma of light biscuit, caramel, light bitter fruit, grapefruit, lemongrass, and hop. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Finish is sticky and sweet, with light lingering bitterness. A subtle brew, which grew on me.

Sigmund (7918) - Tau, NORWAY - OCT 28, 2016
Cask 1/3 pint, gravity dispense, at the 16th Twickenham Beer & Cider Festival, Golden colour, white head. Moderate malty aroma, some toffee, a little fruit. The flavour is nice enough, but not very special - probably got the Gold award in the CBoB 2016 for not being offensive in any way.

berkshirejohn (6655) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2016
Cask at the Tilly Shilling (JDW), Farnborough. Pale amber with a loose white head; citrus aroma; lemon citrus taste; and a dry, lightly bitter finish. A simple and straightforward golden ale.

3.4
Martinus (4701) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - OCT 23, 2015
Clear copper colour, white head. Aroma of straw, malts, hops and hay. Flavour straw, butter, twigs, quite herbal. Herbal finish, straw, lingering bitter.
(from draught @ GBBF ’14, London)

Cask (Eagle Ale House, Clapham) (6:3+:6:3+:13-=3.1+)
Pale orange, brief head. Sweet malty aroma. Dry bitter palate. Simple malts. Pretty boring, but nothing wrong at all. A classic English malty bitter. Maybe a bit twiggy. Was a little flat in the mouth.
