COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oktoberfest is a time of year to honor beer’s rich history and to throw back a few good pints with a few great friends. This beer is a tribute to that notion. Two-Row Barley and Crystal Malts provide a deep amber color and slightly toasted flavor. And they’re finished off with a slight hop bitterness. In other words it’s Oktoberfest through & through.

DATE: September 28, 2017... OCCASION: relaxing after a return to the fall temperatures and soccer practice... GLASSWARE: Orioles mug... pours an orange amber body, perfect for the style, with a modicum of bubbles floating upward... the head is off-white and quickly thinning to a pencil-thin ring... caramel, candy (toffee?), with a lightly toasted bread malt brings an air of warmth... ginger and clove seem to influence secondary sniffs... hearty... sips with a reasonable liveliness, buzzing at the throat... soft overall, and easily sippable... a bit thin... the malt content here is enjoyable, and there is some floral hop stir here, but overall a quick sipper that actually has some weight for a fest at 6.2%... a beer I would crush at a party or roll with at home, but it lacks some of the depth or dimension of a more flavorful marzen...

Variety pack: pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel and bread. Taste is sweet with caramel and biscuit. Simple, but has a nice earthiness or something in there.

12 oz bottle from the variety pack. Decent Oktoberfest style beer overall, but just kinda comes off as a bit dull overall. A bit of caramel / bready malt sweetness, some mild hop notes, and not a lot else. This beer is fine, and at the same time, it is pretty much completely forgettable.

dmac (6497) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - OCT 26, 2014
12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a great looking clear deep red/amber with an average sized tight foamy beige head. Aroma is a little sweet, wort like, followed by dough and some nut shell along with a touch of spicyness. Medium body, average to slightly stronger carbonation, lingering aftertaste. Flavor is much like the aroma, slightly sweet to start, loads of malts, spicy, dry well done toast, hint of nuts, some old flowers. This was really a pleasant surprise and one of the best Oktoberfests I’ve had in a long while.

Clear copper pour with no head. Aroma of toasted malt, bread, and caramel. Sweet caramel flavor with bread, and toasted malt. Very nice beer.

Had on draught at the Y Knot Pub. Pours a nice medium brown with a slight amber color, with a light head. A very faint aroma of malts. A very mediocre Oktoberfest, a hint of sweetness. I wish this beer by Susquehanna had some more character.

Bottle at Christine and Daves, thanks once more to DLJ for sourcing me another winner brewery, 29/11/13.
Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a moderate off white covering.
Nose is bready malts, toffee, light banana, spice, straw.
Taste comprises toffee, biscuit malt, brown bread, cake mix, brown sugars, faint banoffee pie notes.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with sweet notes.
Solid enough marzen,

Strykzone (7713) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Bottle from a trade with jdb288. This beer pours clear and is quite dark red and amber. A thick beige foam stays. The aroma speaks more of an ale. It has rich malts with earth and some caramel. Dark fruit like figs. First sip has "tasty" written all over it. This is a rich beer. Complex malts with a bit of roastiness. Just a smidge of spices and darker fruit. Toffee is fairly heavy. Half way through the glass some bittering hops were tasted and remained in the after taste. The finish was not great and the beer ended with some chemical notes. Except for the finish this was exceptional.
