Draft at the BP. Pours a golden orange color with a thin creamy beige head. Aroma is hoppy with piney and citrus notes, rather sweet. Tastes heavily hopped with a minimal malty sweetness. More citrus and quite a bit of pine. Resin. Heavy bitterness and moderately sweet. A big beer overall with assertive bitters. slowrunner77 (13622) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 23, 2014
"Supposedly a Pliny clone, but if that’s really the case, they dropped the ball on this one. It’s ano k brew. Decent amounts of citrus and pine, but nothing pops, and the malt is too prominant, especialy if Pliny is what they were going for. 2013...getting dialed in, perhaps." baraciisch (3542) - California, USA - FEB 28, 2014
Had during Sac Brewers Showcase... Decent double ipa, nothing terribly exciting... Moderate caramel malts, citrusy, floral hop finish... Okay

Nice presentation with a finger of head on a medium straw colored body.
The aroma is grapefruit and lemon; nailed the style.
The taste has medium to high bitterness, lemon with a balanced malt bill.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation and a medium body.
A pretty good DIPA.

The best beer I have had from Sutter Buttes. I reallyu like the mouthfeel and lack of grainyness of the last one I had from them. This one is on point and I would drink it all night, not too hoppy, not too sweet considering the heavy grain bill. Good stuff. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - JUL 22, 2011
Tasted at Beer Revolution. It pours golden with a nice white head. The aroma is very strong and fresh with some juicy peaches and pine. Maybe some light florals. The flavor is well balanced with some sweet citrus and tropical fruit and more pine. The finish is incredibly strong with some citrus peel and almost a woody like pine. Overall, this had an incredible complex bitterness with some balancing sweet maltiness while maintaining the signature "West Coast" character. I loved it. Stayed with me for quite a while! Tap. Dark golden pour with a well laced white head. Earthy, citrusy, and floral hop bouquet. Very strong and glorious aroma. Sweet malt and big hops in the mouth. Not astringent at all. Alcohol warmth down my chest follows about 10 seconds later. My only wish would.have been for a little.more mouthfeel but otherwise a beautiful beer.
