COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Irish Red that is as quiet as the Irish. Named after my mother’s family, it is not your typical Irish Red. Deep red hue, nice malt character follow the norm, but that is where it goes out on its own. Slightly aggressive hopping(in the kettle and dry hopping) and the brief exposure to Oak allow it to show it uniqueness. A softer alternative to IPA’s.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours amber with a thick beige head and a sweet malt aroma. There is a medium-bodied smoked malt flavor with a dry bitter finish.

Pours hazy dark copper with a beige head. Aroma seems citrus/pine. Med body. Flavor is somewhat roasty malt with pine and citrus. Perhaps the reverse. Finishes a bit malty, and not very bitter. Not finding oak, but there’s a bit of complexity that’s hard to pull apart. Bitter enough to be tasty.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2011 On tap @ Raley Field brewfest. Malty, slightly bitter, color is awesome red, with great lacing. Palate is full and finishes dry. Aroma is malty. Overall not as smooth a dbI like my reds, but a decent brew.
