UPDATED: JAN 15, 2014 Beautiful as it is, it doesnt quite live up to the looks of it, By all means a good brew, but on the bitter side of Brown Ales, and nothing copared to that of Randers Bryghus. Brown Ale by all standards is a difficult brew to master, and Svaneke, although making a good attempt, doesnt nail it. A little too grainy and metal-like on the back palate to make it a winner, but otherwise a decent attempt, and just above average when it comes to this style. Turns flat quickly, with some metal in the aftertaste, hinting on inferior hops. Recommended if not too expensive

Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy dark copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of malt and hops with notes of fruit and caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of roast, fruit and malt. Rather bitter finish. Medium carbonation. OK but nothing revolutionary.

Meget mrk farve. Flot let brunt skum. Dejlig blomstret sd duft. En kraftig smag af mrk malt, med en god bitter eftersmag, som giver en lyst til en ekstra tr.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A, BBE 25.05.2013
Aroma has toffee, caramel and some berries typical to Danish Ales. Flavour is sweet with some hops, caramel, berries, woody notes and nuts. Not the most typical brown ale.

500 ml bottle. Thanks Timo A. Pours a dark copper colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of grainy malts, some vegetables, hay and perfume. Flavour of grainy malts, bread, grass and cardboard. Has some off-flavours. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and high carbonation. Not good.
