Bottle, thx to Ole_R..(Vintage Porter 2008) An unclear ruby beer with a big, tan, lasting head. Chocolate, roasted and burnt malt, and some coffee, dried fruits and sugar in the aroma. The flavor is sugary and roasted, with chocolate, cocoa, prunes and a hoppy bitterness. Full-bodied and well-carbonated, quite sweetish in the mouth. A bit warming too, but not much. Lasting coffee-bitter finish. A nice and easy drinkable beer, but maybe a bit sweet. (080708) NosirIwont (2535) - Frederikssund, DENMARK - JUL 28, 2008
Bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a big, light brown head. Sweet, very malty aroma; molasses. Notes of bread/rye. Roasted; not very much at first, but more as it warms. Dry and dusty and barbecue chip notes as it warms as well. Sweet dusty flavour with outspoken notes of alcohol. Roasted. Faint off-notes of fish(!). Hmm… Bitter, roasted finish with a lingering bitterness, bordering liquorice, and slight notes of apple. At first I wasn’t very impressed and didn’t think it fitted the style very well, but as it warmed up, it became much better and more balanced. 27-07-08. faroeviking (10913) - FAROE ISLANDS - JUL 28, 2008
Botella. Colour: Black with a big well settled brown creamy bubbly long lasting steady head. Aroma: Well roasted malt, good chocolate, slight smoke, dark fruits and bitter hops. Good filling mouthfeel. Flavour: Bit smoky with bitter hops, dark chocolate, dark fruits, alcohol and lots of roasted malt. Roasty well lasting finish. Great brew. Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt - lending it a slight acidity, but also with hints of smoke. The flavor is both has sweet and hard roasted malt notes - again the hard roasted malt lends it a slight acidity, while the alcohol tickles the tongue slightly, before a very dry and slightly roasted finish sets in. 500 ml bottle. Big fluffy espresso head. Near translucent, dark brown to near black body. Dry roasty aroma. Dark malts, cocoa, chocolate and dark dried fruits. Taste is dark, sweet chocolate, cocoa, a well prononced bitterness and lots of roast.
Near full-bodied, still easy drinking. Malty-bitter chocolate ending. Yum!

Bottle at Århus Ølfestival 2008. Pours black with red edges and a small brownish head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. Flavour of dark chocolate and roasted malt. larsga (7542) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 9, 2008
Big dark brown lasting head. Opaque black body goes dark red at edges. Sugary roasty milky chocolatey aroma with wooden notes. Dry-sweet dark chocolatey roasty taste with licorice notes. Feels surprisingly light. Mid-bodied. Dry coffeeish roasty laquer and burnt wood aftertaste. Leaves sticky sugar on the lips. Very good, and dangerously easy to drink. Clear dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate chocolate and coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - smooth, carbonation is soft. (120508)
Bottle at ÅBF08. Good fruity and roasted aroma, slightly sweet. Very high bitterness, some of it from the barley, but still nice. The flavour is sweet and creamy. Roasted aftertaste and also quite fruity. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 14, 2008
UPDATED: APR 11, 2009 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and opaque with a fine, creamy light brown head. Aroma of alcohol and vanilla. Medium in body with plenty of hard roasted malts and a very distinct almost crude bitternes both from malts and hops. Quite boozy, obviously bottom fermented hence there’s no fruit to hide the alcohol burn. This comes out somehow raw and unrefined. 030608
