On tap. Pours black with a vague orange hue and a creamy beige head leaving a dense lacework. The nose has some roasted malt and a vague smoky touch. Medium body, some roasted accents, plenty of licorice and then distinct, fat smoke - perhaps a little ashes also - and juniper? The smoke is Bamberg-style. Ends dry with some bitterness. If you dig Smoked beers this is far from the worst. 161210 omhper (24959) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 4, 2011

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. It’s a clear, dark brown beer with a minimal-sized off-white to beige head. Tar, burnt wood and some smoke in the aroma, like a dying bonfire somewhere deep in the forest. The same can be said of the flavor, it’s intensely bonfire-ish, with some tar and smoke. Tar, smoke and bonfire in the finish too. A bit heavy on the carbonation, medium to full body. A very demanding beer, but nice in many ways. 110527
