This is a lovely beer by any standards. Looks very much like a wheat-beer, with some of the same summery, refreshing elements. It’s dry and spicy, slightly sour. Saisony flavours all the way through (and it’s not those sweet, cloying american saisons either) High CO2 content in order to beef up the refreshing saison-character. The fact that it’s a low alcohol beer with plenty of characteris an extra plus. A whole new style, and a good one too.

Had this at the European Beer Festival, Kobenhaven 13-09-08 Nice soft beer in the mouth, some carbonation, good tanginess with little citric bite. Quite decent for the strength.

Bottle. Unclear sparkling light yellow color with a large to huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, yeast, butter. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very nice, smooth and refreshing (241007)

Flaske. Flot gul uigennemsigtig øl med et kæmpe skumhoved. Fin sødlig duft af humle. God smag og fin mundfylde især procenten taget i betragtning. Rigtig fin øl.

Bottled. Yellow coloured. Unclear. Dense white head. Sweetness, fruits and citrus in the aroma. Flavour of yeast, spice, sweetness and loads of citrus. Is medium bodied. Citric and spiced end. Is grapish and fresh. Surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink. One of the better low alcohol beers I’ve tried.

Bottle 50cl. Light yellow and very hazy body with a white head. Nose dominated by citrus. Body with a lot of citrus but also yeasty notes. Very drinkable. Impressive beer with that little alcohol!

Tap, Plan B. Cloudy yellow white color, medium white head. Looks like a belgian white. Aroma is quite weak of banana, some what. Quite bitter belgian white style beer, thick wheaty. Then it’s not too bad.

Svesse (8360) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAY 26, 2007
(Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen, 18 May 2007) Pale yellow colour, hazy, huge white head. Spicy, fruity nose with notes of coriander, clove and lemon. Fruity, spicy taste with the same elements (clove, coriander, lemon) and a puff of spicy hops in the finish. Light body, rather dry and fairly bitter. A bit like a belgian wit, but druyer and more bitter. Interesting, and more taste than the abv would suggest.

Bottled. A clear, yellow-golden beer with a small, white head. Spices, wheat, hops and some sourness in the aroma, and the flavor has hops, malt, coriander and some medicine-like notes. Medium to thin body. Quite nice for a 3.3% ABV beer, but besides that, it is boring enough to never buy it again. (070119)
