Big ivory head mounts the amber to orange body. The nose is of course malty straight off, but surprisingly roasty, bringing hazelnut like burnt flavours that feel more belonging to a brown ale than anything else. Earthy and doughy nature remains calm and linear in mouth. A faint vegetal presence is the only disturbance. Light-medium body, oily texture. Low-flavored globally and not very satisfying for a doppelbock, no malt richness certainly. Unappealing balance and too simplistic. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 22, 2005

Vegetal and earthy notes combine for a surprising summer garden. Dry and fruity, but not enough caramel malt sweetness to really recall my favorite doppelbocks.
Hops and yeast combine in a rebellious bitterness which overcomes the caramel malt sweetness and apricot fruitiness. Somewhat dry and simple towards the end, this is a doppelbock I will probably soon forget.
A flag without wind cannot show its colors.
Bottle. Salty, with some caramel and toffee flavours, touches of vanilla, with some alcohol in the finish, some apple perhaps. Quite OK. Belgo (154) - Køge, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2005
Draught at the brewery. Orange-reddish with a thin poorly lasting head. Aromas of apricots, malt and plenty of alcohol. Same elements in the flavour. On the palate there is an alcoholic burn and more bitterness than expected. Mediumbodied. Seems a bit unbalanced. LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2005
Bottle at "Cafe Blågårds Apotek", Copenhagen. The wonderful Svaneke yeast was immediately apparrent in the aroma along with a nice sweet maltiness. Decent doppelbock but not among Svaneke’s finest. Btw. "Stærke Preben" is the brewer.

hazy brown with large long-lasting firm head. Smooth and sweet malty aroma of grass, cocoa-powder, oranges and toffee. Malty sweet flavour of light chocolate, grass and cocoapowder. The body is surprisingly thin. Sweet but a bit short aftertaste. of grass and chocolate. jonsiii (165) - Fredericia, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2005
Bottle 50 cl. Fine aroma, medium head. Not the best from Svaneke... Tastes rather thin despite the 7,9% abv. Hansen (8595) - Assentoft, DENMARK - JUN 5, 2005
Fine malty aroma as always with a beer from Svaneke. Amber, medium head. A bit sour. Thin. Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - JUN 4, 2005
Malty sweetness in the nose, some slight hints of hops. Amber colored beer, small white head. Artificial sweetness in the flavor. Not very interesting. Kinnaj15 (275) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2005
Amber. Sweet aroma with notes of a infection. Sweet taste with notes of butterscotch. I just had to much of infected beer from Svanke the last year.
