Keg at the Brewpub in Day 1 of Fergus and Sarah’s Czech jaunt. 29/09/14. Served in a tall flute. Yellow / golden hazed colouered pour with a thin lasting white head. Aroma is big banana, bread wheat, sweet ripe banana. Flavour is composed of thin wheat grains, banana, chalky bready notes, not much to it. Maybe a little too hot on the ferment. Banana esters are too much for me. Palate is light and doughy, thin, chalky on the tongue. Bit dull an uninspiring. The worst of the six.

BlackHaddock (7329) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2014
0.4 litre pour at the brewery on 5th Oct 2014. usual hazy orange/amber/yellowy body with a full and lasting white foaming head. Mild yeast and banana feel to the nose and taste, some hints of vanilla as you would expect too. I thought it a little bland and not a great example of the style: drinkable but could have been more flavoursome and interesting like many i have tried before.

Keg at GBBF ’14, day 1, 12/08/14 thanks to Ed King for the pour. Lightly hazed golden with a good sized off white head that retains well. Nose is bready, fresh smelling, spice, freshly cut grass, clean, light cloves, yeast and banana. Taste comprises vanilla custard, fresh bread dough, grassy, yeast, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid fresh tasting clean hefe - guzzle juice!

On gravity dispense at GBBF 2014 and drunk on the opening day. Very likely the beer of the festival for me. Very slightly hazy amber, huge white foam head. Thank god it dissipates. Nose is amazing. Lovely creamy, clove, sweet malt, fresh banana, wheaty creamy cereal grain, straw and hay. Taste is fresh clean creamy, clove, sweet malt, banana, straw and hay, lemon crisp slightly bitter lager hop tingle. Light and full flavoured. Fantastic beer.

Draught keg at Euston Tap. Pours pale slightly hazy gold with a tight head. Hints of the weiss yeast characteristics on the nose, more comes out in the flavour - good notes of the typical style indicators of banana and spice, with a smooth finish. A good execution of the style. (note: on Euston Tap blackboard this is just listed as "Strahov Weizen").
