UPDATED: AUG 16, 2012 I don’t know why not give it perfect score based on its class alone. I drink many Czech beers and this by far is the most fresh tasting, fun on complexity (smoke, little dark pepper corn, dark chocolate roastyness....... little woody with a really nice tan head that doesn’t dissipate quick at all and stays around floating on the medium fresh body. Label is really fitting for this beer!
update: Still drinking this beer. Even got a box out of exp. as of July 5th. Today is August 16th. It just keeps marching on. Note to people prone to heartburn..... that I think the ingredients here are fresh not to easily sting you. Amazing finish and aftertastes.
Even on the last finger on a wide lager glass the characteristics still shine full on.. give it a shake. if anybody wants any, contact me. Grzesiek79 (4297) - Radom, POLAND - FEB 27, 2012

Boy, it was hard to figure out which svijany beer I had rated in Brno. The bottle I had said svijany karamel tmave - had to czech the website..haha...to figure it out. this beer is good from start to finish. Good color, nice little caramel flavor, small chocolate as well. Could drink these all day. Donatas (188) - Vilnius, LITHUANIA - DEC 28, 2002
Dark color (brown to black). Fine aroma. Presence of bitterness. Unusual strengh (compare to Krusovice Cerne or Samson Tmavi). Another good dunkel from Czech Rep. I found this beer only in Liberec. pilsnerrogge (2948) - Finspång, SWEDEN - SEP 15, 2005
Golden/brown colour. Ultra-thick, creamy head. Roasty, almost smoked, malty aroma. Medium bodied, malty, roasty flavour with some sweetness and a subtle bitterness in the finish.

500 ml bottle in Germany thanks to shrubber85. Pours a very dark red, almost black with a thick tan head that lasts. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel and some smoke. Taste is very smooth throughout with a mild roastiness and hints of chocolate in the malt. Palate is a creamy texture with a well balanced finish. I enjoyed this one. rozsoma (1023) - Gyõr, HUNGARY - DEC 6, 2013
Nagyon selymes, lágy kis barna, mely itatja magát, mint a vetmalac. Érdemes. Jamedra (754) - Hostivice, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 6, 2014
V ústech pivo působí plně a má střední říz. Celkově se jedná o velmi příjemný tmavý ležák s plnou, pestrou chutí, která rozhodně nezklame. henrikb (1263) - Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 30, 2007
Draft - Clear dark brown body, Guinness like sharp edge between body and head, very thick and beige head leaving the thickest layer of foam on the sides of the glass; Not to big caramel, licorice, malty pleasant sweet nose; Very soft textured body, sweet, bitter; Medium long very licorice, caramel, cane sugar, malty sweet aroma and lots of it, bitter and a little to sweet. thewolf (12595) - Kolding, DENMARK - SEP 23, 2008
Bottle, bought @ Pivni Gallerie, Prague.
Pours deep nutty brown with a fine, lightly creamy off-white. Aroma has light toffee, good caramel, some roasted malts and light grassy hops. Impressive mouthfeel, very creamy for the relatively low alcohol. Flavour is lightly metallic at first, but gains in wonderful maltiness, good sweet and dark chocolate. Finish is medium roasted with a good hoppy presence. This is a wonderful dunkel.
