COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
GINTARINIS beer belongs to the “Pilsner class”, it’s volume is 4.7% and the colour is of light amber. The beer is made of malt, hops, beer yeast and fresh water. This is the lightest beer that belongs to ŠVYTURYS family. Lithuanian beer lovers like it for it’s fresh, slightly bitter taste and long lasting aroma of hops. In 1999 it was awarded with a gold medal in “Product of the Year” contest by Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.

It might seem wired today, but in 1995 when reconstructed ŠVYTURYS brewery offered GINTARINIS beer in Klaipėda for the first time, the lowlanders decided that brewers are making fun of them. “They cheated! They diluted it!”, shouted fans of dark beer who were used to ŽIGULINIS.

The way of GINTARINIS into the hearts of Lithuanians was not easy. At first this beer was made darker and thicker on purpose. Later it became lighter and has been improved until it met the requirements of ŠVYTURYS technologists and consumers.

Because the demand for the light beer is constantly increasing, the brewers of ŠVYTURYS are dreaming about creation of new, even lighter beer that would be perfect to stay the thirst and refresh on the hot summers day.

Ikke det store sus. Almindelig brown ale smag, dog en anelse mere bitter end hvad godt er.

I bought this bottle at the slavmarket in Paris. I drank it at home yesterday before our Peruvian meal, during these beautiful days of May. I think that when the weather is hot the majority of lagers make a better sensation than usual. This one is a boring beer but it is drinkable, una chelita de barrio, the color is yellow/gold, normal carbonation, thin and white head. The taste is malty, bready, small touch of honey, some hop, a bit metallic and watery, not the Olympe beverage but it is acceptable con unas verdaderas tapas de Andalucia.

On can from ICA Vilnius. Clear golden color, good foam. Low aroma intensity; boiled vegatables, some Malt- but does not really have much aroma. Light body & complexity . Ok bitterness & balance. Simple stuff ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1 pint can. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is hay, pale malt, slightly metallic. Taste is grain, malt, cereal. Nothing to write home about. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BeerViking (4947) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2017
Bottle from CCCP in South Ealing, pours clear gold, is gassy but with very little head retention, light aromas of toast, wax and buttered corn, sweet malt is faintly nutty, with a touch of dry-grassy hops. Light lingering bitterness. Bit dull, really.

1 pint can. Pale golden to yellow pour. White head. Aroma: sour esters, lemon peel, grain, malts. Flavour is watery malty, weak melon notes. Very poor. A waste of money. Tastless and worthless brew.

BlackHaddock (7514) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2016
500ml bottle (as ŠVYTURYS AMBER): obtained from some random store in West Norwood, London. Drank with my son in his place on 18th Nov 2016. Bog standard Pale Lager/Pilsner: golden, clear and clean, fast fading white crown. Refreshing enough but lacking depth and flavour. Not really malty, not really hoppy, just a bland blend with a slight bitter finish.

Vighals (4209) - Sørumsand, NORWAY - JUL 5, 2016
Gulbrun klar med fingerhøyt hvitt skum. Lukter lett honning, malt, korn og lett sitrus. Lett. Søtlig maltig smak, noe honning, lett bitterhet fra midten og ut. Kort.

Gulbrun klar farge med hvitt skum som ligger. Lukter malt og ikke så mye mer. Bra med kullsyre. Søtlig bitter avslutning.

Bottle. Aroma is grains, caramel, peach and apples. Taste is medium sweet, weak fruits, no bitterness to speak of. Not really a Pilsner, but in itself a decent beer!
