kamwitsta (553) - POLAND - JAN 4, 2016
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2016 Aroma: caramel, some flowers for just a moment, and a little alcohol. Appearance: dark brown, a little hazy, head small and just for a second. Taste: at first bittersweet and marginally sour -- at this stage it?s a 9; later turns into sweet and slightly bitter -- a 7; overall 8. Palate: body medium; carbonation fizzy -- a shame that, it doesn?t go well with the rest of this otherwise actually quite nice beer; finish more sweet than bitter, a little sticky. Overall: much better than I?d expected. Not at all bad, actually quite nice. At first it?s too fizzy but the carbonation masks the sweetness; when that goes away, the sugar comes to the fore and it becomes too sweet. Well, I guess there?s just no pleasing me.

Appearance is the only good thing of this beer. Aroma is a light malt. Taste is corn... cheap corn malt, that’s Carlsberg’s trademark. And caramel, corn and caramel. Cheat beer.

Bottle 50cl. Clear dark amber, large frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, good lacing; sweet malty nose, caramel, brown sugar, bit roasty; taste light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, malty, bit sugary; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering sweetness and roasted malts plus a bit more bitter in the aftertaste; decent Vienna.

Clear dark amber, thick offwhite froth. Sweet malt aroma. Caramel and syrup flavour with negligible bitterness. Too much bland caramel, nothing to balance. Blah...

50 cl [email protected] in lager [email protected] 6 degrees C. Pours dark amber with sufficient beige head with short retention. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste metallic sweet with caramel malt dominating and hardly any hops and this continues in the aftertaste. OK mouthfeel but rather warery texture with soft carbonation. Not my cup of tea at all..
