Bottle courtesy of GT2, thank you! Cloudy amber color, fluffy white head. Aroma of caramel. Taste is sweet toasted caramel. Decent.

jtclockwork (16857) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 15, 2012
Bottle thanks to Marco. Pours muddy brown with off white/light beige head. Nose/taste of baked pecans, toasted biscuit malt, caramel, toast, light toffee and hints of citrus. Body on the lighter side for a barleywine. Lots of sweet pecan nuts in the finish. Medium body.

brokensail (16601) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 30, 2012
The beer is a murky amber color with a small khaki head. Sweet caramel and toffee, a nice nutty note, and some pine hops. Maybe just a little bitter on the palate. Fairly nutty, sweet toffee, bread, and caramel. A light creaminess, toasted malt, and citric hops an pine. Hint of booze on the palate.

crossovert (13413) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2014
750ml bottle. At this point don’t really get pecans, jsut soy, heavy sherry, oxidized cardboard, and spice. It’s gone well downhill.

Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Sample at the Central OH BA Tasting at From The Vine on 06/02/2012: Nearly opaque ruddy orange-brown color with a medium thick off-white head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing. Malt, molasses and dark fruit in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malts and nuts, fruit and earthy hops. The finish is hoppy with some pine and nut notes left behind. Pretty beer all around.

deyholla (11900) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a hazy deep amber brown with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of deep grains with a bit of backing pecan and a touch of pine hops. Flavor has lots of grains with a bit of booze and just an underlying note of pecan.

hopscotch (11175) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2012
Bottle… Lightly-hazed Longhorn-orange ale with a short-lived, taupe head. Good retention. The aroma is a malty, hoppy mélange of roasted tree nuts, brown sugar, caramel, dark fruit, earthiness, woodiness and resin. Medium to full-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is boozy, more bitter than sweet and a touch abrasive due to what must be a substantial hop bill. Components include caramel, toasted nuts and earthy, tannic bitterness. Finishes bittersweet and a touch abrasive with lingering bitterness. I’m not big on American-style barleywines.

daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Cloudy amber color with an off white head. Dates, caramel, hops, cookies. Flavor is smooth and well balanced. Nice caramel, dates, figs, hop bite at the end.
