Aged in a Papi Van Winkle barrel. Very sweet. Strong bourbon flavor. For me it’s a little sweet, but it’s perfect for the style. blklab2007 (2120) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 20, 2015
Bottle poured a dark amber bordering on brown with a thin coating of off white head. Aroma has sweet malts, aged hop, bourbon, oak, and vanilla. Mouth feel is medium with low carbonation. Flavor has a lot of barrels, vanilla, sweet malt, aged hops, a bit of bitterness, and some light heat. Barley wine territory for me.

Tasted on 2/11/15 from a capped 750mL bottle, thanks to Rokicki for sharing. Pours hazy bright burnt orange with a thick beige head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is sweet bourbon and lemon peel hops with tons of caramel, brown sugar, and earthy yeast. The flavor is a bit more funk, even than the nose, with dry burnt toffee and toast and sweet bourbon, moving to the lemon peel bitterness. The body is full with average carbonation and a long sweet and bitter hoppy finish. Clarkdvm (531) - Florida, USA - OCT 11, 2014
Draft at source.. smelled awesome. Taste was underwhelming comparatively but still nice. Overly sweet but that tends to happen with this genre. BuckeyeBoy (8476) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 3, 2014
750ml bottle at the barrel tasting. Pours out a amber orange topped with a small head. Nose is pine oak bourbon vanilla and some earth tones. Taste is more of the pine hops barrel notes and some sweetness from the heavy malts. jsquire (4599) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2014
I’m not a proponent of barrel aging IPAs, but this beer works for me. The nose is mostly oak, bourbon and earth, especially as it warms. Some red grapefruit zest with some pine all over powered by leather, bourbon and wood. As balanced as I think you could get a BA IPA. And while the alcohol is a noticeable taste, it is not intrusive. Still, keep IPAs out of barrels.... smith4498 (3674) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Pours burnt orange color with off white head. Aromas of bourbon and vanilla with some citrus. Similar flavors with the bourbon dominating. Medium body with average carbonation.
