Bottle during RBWG thanks to Swamp Head. Pours a clear brown with small beige head. The aroma is bready malt and wet hop. Thin mouth with roasted malts, chocolate light dry finish. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 4, 2015
My Bottom Line:
This fluffy Black Pale Ale benefits from floral and fruity notes, making the roasted chestnut and tobacco allusions become even more engaging.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the dark mahogany.
-The mouthfeel is very comfortable, just like their bottled Smoked Porter’s.
-This is quite intricate!
-The resinous hop bitterness balances out the malt and yeast contributions.
-All in all, this is very drinkable.
