Draft... Pours mostly clear and dark with a burnt-orange hue and a small, fleeting, white head. The nose is toasty, grainy and a hint vinous, featuring sherry or port with a hint of caramel. Full-bodied-bodied with kicked-back carbonation. The malty flavor features a collection of caramel, toasted malt, milk chocolate and a modest measure of minerally bitterness. Fairly hearty and packed with flavor, yet refreshing at the same time. This is the style of beer that lured me from pale lagers and malt liquors to craft beers. In 1992, this malty style, along with dry stouts, amber lagers and brown ales, was about as bold and flavorful as it got in my part of the country. sebletitje (10477) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JAN 16, 2011
Tap at Black Squirrel for CBC. Pours a low haze red to amber. Weaker foam. Nose is gummy candies, sweet maple, but something like vinegar. Odd. Taste is cherry juice box, very bland overall, mild sugar. Not much to it. Suddy, weaker body. No hop content. drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - JUL 23, 2013
Draft during CBC. Amber red pour with a small off-white head. Light caramel, some earthiness, a bit of an off aspect. Not bad. PorterPounder (8356) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Tallahassee, Fl - Fermentation Lounge - on tap. Murky dark orange pour, medium thick off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is pretty much neutral with a hint of earthy peat. Flavor profile presents some light caramel, a touch of toffee, some raisiny sweetness in the back end. Thick enough mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

I-75 and Swamphead are the only worthwhile things to come out of Hoggetown. Misty bronze-brown, thin ivory head. Muted malt aroma with some peat and wood. Toasted malt, moderately sweet, lightly acidic, low bittering. Stray cherry tones, and a marshmallow or vanilla extract wants to emerge but doesn’t quite break the waterline. Sweetish finish. Easy drinking. I’ll have to try this again, I may have had a little palate shock after a Victory Storm King. On tap, Brass Tap Midtown. burg326 (5628) - Florida, USA - SEP 5, 2013
On tap at swamp head, poured an amber color with aromas of caramel, earth, and a kiss of citrus. Flavors were all caramel, and earth, meh. markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 9, 2011
On draft at FBG Fest 2011. Pours red-amber with a white head. Nose is malt, sweet toffee, and a bit of citrus hops. Flavor is similar- sweet malt and a hint of citrus hops. Light to medium body with sweet malts and a hint of hops lingering into the finish. jbruner (5448) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - APR 24, 2013
Pours a clear copper on tap with thin off-white ring of bubbly head. Aroma is red caramel malt and a nice earthy hop back. Taste follows slightly bitter but more sweet make at the end. This could have been better. DialSquare (5186) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 26, 2013
Tap at Proof. Cooper pour with thin off-white. Aroma is caramel malt. Tastes are malty, grain, light citrus. Ok.
