Tap at Green Room Brewing in Jax Beach, FL. The pour is a deep brown with a deep coffee head. Menacing appearance. Small lace. Nose is a little off- something like mold but not as offensive. Maybe licorice and stale malt. Taste is richer chocolate and cocoa with a lactic/tart finish. Saltiness and umami reign supreme in the body creating something like chocolate covered smoky bacon. Palate is much thinner than expected for stout and creates almost an Irish dry stout like chuggable body. Thinner, but not watery, allowing one to enjoy this quite rapidly. Not really something to savor as much as one to put down despite its abv. Very nice.

draft @ redlight redlight. Roasted malts on the nose with hints of smoke and chocolate. Pours black with a tan head. Chocolate malts upfront with bitter roasted malts, an earthy bitterness with dark chocolate in the finish. Not bad!

pours a dark black with a nice ashy head. nose is oatmeal, roasted malts, coffee, licorice. taste is also pretty good with earthy, oatmeal, roasted malts, and chocolate. nice palate for a beer where im guessing the abv is in the 6% range. reminds me alot of patio tools. overall a pretty decent brew!

tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2011
Draft at brewery. Pours black with a decent tan head which lasts. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty, a bit earthy. Flavor is lightly bitter, chocolate, more coffee. Medium/full body, slightly boozy, oily palate. I think this beer is quite a bit better than midnight oil.

A very, very roasty stout with some oatmeal detectable, but not particularly sweet. One-dimensional, and a bit boozy, although I have no idea what the abv is. Good enough to drink.

On draft at FBG Fest 2011. Pours a dark brown/ black with a tan head. Nose is some roast, some coffee/ espresso, some dark chocolate, and a hint of earth. Flavor is similar with the roast, dark chocolate, and a smooth mouthfeel. Nice stout.
