Black pour with a tan head.
Aroma of coffee being roasted, some chocolate.
The flavor is bitter, burnt coffee and chocolate. Not my kind of stout, but I know people who like ’em kinda burnt and roasty - this is one for you. juiceisloose (1492) - Windermere, Florida, USA - APR 21, 2010
Draft at redlight. Pours a dark brown almost black color topped by a small, bubbly tan colored head of foam that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, roasted barley, and loads of roasted coffee all atop a sweet chocolate malt backbone. The flavor follows with fresh roasted coffee up front, milk chocolate and roasted barley with an earthy hop bitterness on the back end. Pretty nice flavor between the dark chocolate and roasted coffee. On the thinner side of medium bodied with balanced carbonation that leads to a lengthy roasty finish. Tons of coffee for sure, but I don’t get much in the way of oatmeal as the body was a touch thin. Still a nice drinking and solid coffee stout. SHIG (4962) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - JUN 13, 2010
Tap at CCB: Poured a black color with a tan head. Aroma is light coffee bean and roasted malts/barley. The taste is watery thin espresso coffee. I expected it to be a little thicker with a name like midnight oil!

Poured from a mini growler. Pours black with a thin beige head. Nose is some coffee and smoke. Taste followed the nose but lacked any real punch. The mouthfeel was thin for a beer of this type. Pretty disappointing. kabsetter (103) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Aroma of coffee takes over everything else and pours black with a small cream head. Taste of coffee shines through strong. Easy to drink and tasty. Nice beer! radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Sample at Mile Marker Brewery in St Augustine, FL. Black color with tan head. Aroma of coffee. Did these guys just serve me cold coffee?? Nope, taste reveals carbonation and notes of chocolate, bitter roasted malt and light earthy hops. Light body, medium carbonation, somewhat acidic with lingering roasty/coffee-like finish. A coffee smelling beer that actually had no coffee in it! Great stuff. Criz (358) - - AUG 1, 2014
16 oz Draft. Pours a deep black, tan head, with lacing on the way down. Dry coffee notes, roasted malts, and bitter cocoa. Review from memory, decent pour. SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 23, 2015
Beau visage noir.
