Midnight Oil is an Oatmeal Coffee Stout. "Quiet and sensual like a moonlit night, this complex blend of toasted oats, roasted barley, chocolate wheat malt, and dark roast organic coffee, imparts an intense aroma and complex flavor profile. Tap @ Dunedin for Stogies and Stouts ’10. Pours dark brown, thick mocha head. Aroma, nice fresh roast, coffee/mocha aroma. Flavors, lots of roasted malts, notes of coffee/lactic sweetness, light chocolate/mocha grainy mouthfeel. Nice finish with the perfect amount of coffee that does keeps a very mild bitter touch. Med-high carbonation.

Consumed at Stoogies and Stouts and Brewers Ball. A: Pours deep black with a small tan head. S: Aromas of roasted malt, gas station coffee, and chocolate. T: Pretty damn flavorful. Nice light roasted coffee, roasted malt, and milk chocolate sweetness. M: On the thinner side of medium, smooth with a slightly bitter finish. D: Pretty good, not my favorite coffee beer, but pretty tasty nonetheless.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap - Fermentation Lounge. Pitch black pour, sticky, mocha colored head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma has some nice chocolate accents and a touch of bitter chocolate. Rich flavor that matches the aroma with the coffee and chocolate notes. Hints of marshmallows and licorice in the back end. Sours a bit near the end with some vanilla funkiness. Thick enough mouthfeel.

Brown/black with frothy tan head and clinging lace. Roasted malt, coffee, and a good malt bitter. Very roasty dry finish. A tad thin and watery but a nice beer.

Tap-almost completely black color with a small tan head, at least when it arrived at the table. Deep coffee aroma and that was it. Taste of roasted coffee with chocolate following. Medium carbonation and smooth finish. WOB Viera

Draft at Hopjacks Pensacola. Classic dark stout pour with a brown head. Sweet aroma that reminds me of dark caramel or toffee. Flavor is similar to lightly sweetened coffee with a hint of bitterness. Very tasty.

Draft to taster at Tomoka. Looks good; a slightly translucent very dark brown with foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt, coffee, and a nice balance of roast. Tastes like it smells with a somewhat bitter mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

On tap @ Swamp Head. Black in color with a thin khaki head. Really nice coffee aroma. Kind of nutty, somewhat toasty, and a good bit of roasted malts. There’s plenty of licorice and dark cocoa, too. Flavor is more just roast forward and the carbonation is really lacking. It’s kind of chocolatey, I suppose. Some coffee grounds and a little bit of a green pepper note.
