Backlog. On tap @ Popeye, June 2008. Clear amber color. Aroma’s of fruit, oily hops. Flavor is moderate hopbitter. Medium bodied. Nice hopbitter finish. Capa (3301) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2007
Draught at Popeyes. Pours reddish orange with a medium tan head. Aroma was sweet malt, citrus hops, and refreshing/tropical fruit. Had a crisp hoppy flavor. Citrus, sweet fruit, and bitter. Very refreshing. Medium body. I greatly enjoyed this beer and I plan on drinking more of it. jonno (2761) - JAPAN - SEP 13, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2009 Wow...sold as a bricks###t house. Lots of malts finding their way to the top, with a pleasant smooth finish biirusaikou (2705) - - JUL 6, 2015
Draught at Keyaki. Classic amber profile, caramel malt, piney hops, notes of grape and pepper, dry bitter finish. Good stuff, fairly straight-forward and drinkable. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 18, 2010
Draft at Ushi Tora (Tokyo). A clear dark amber. A lot of caramel on the nose. Sweet caramel in the mouth - very smooth palate. Just a tickle of hops which works just right.

It’s easy to undersell a beer like this, because it’s not an IPA or a bold Stout. What it is is an incredibly nice malty Amber with sweet caramel fading even into light milk chocolate while finishing mildly bitter with good citrus notes. It’s actually just a fucking good beer that would be elite even in America. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - APR 22, 2006
Bottled. Amber almost red ale with a big off-white head and a bit of lace. Flowery hops in the nose. Nicely balanced taste with initial sweetness then toast, citrus, and a bit of caramel. The hop taste lingers nicely. Eminently drinkable. dfearnley (2145) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 14, 2013
Cask to pint glass, Popeye
A little funk, sweet grains and caramel.
Crystal clear amber, but no head.
Caramel and grains.
Simple, but nice.

Yen 1150 on tap at Ushi Tora. Full flavoured and plenty of fruits make this a nice deviation from the standard pedestrian style often seen in amber ales. Good layer of fizz too. Really bordering on pale ale in style given the fruit expression. Lovely beer.beer-yum (1710) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 1, 2014

Fantastic house brew. Excellent effort with wonderful toffee malts, subtle yet meaningful grassy hops and some unexpected lift from some low key fizz. Some very attractive fruit sweetness kicks in late. Yen 900 for a UK pint at the Algate.
A flavourfull and balanced brew that would make a nice complement to any tasting session.
