Draft. Cloudy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of clove and banana. Taste is spiced banana bubblegum. larsga (7542) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2012
Big offwhite head. Hazy opaque pale yellow body. Faintly vinegary herbal aroma with mealy citric spice notes. Dry-sweetish peach and banana taste with cloves notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish oily herbal fruity aftertaste. Very mild and clean. Nice. (0.27l draft at Popeye, Tokyo. Menu said it was 5%.) EdKing (2587) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2012
Bottle bought in La Cachette, Kagurazaka. Colour is hazy amber, touch of orange, thin white head. Nose is touch yeasty, clove, and a lot fo orange and lemon citrous. Taste is very light a weizens tend to be in Japan. Taste is orange first on the tongue then bit of spice, clove and citous zest. Touch watery body though. Bottle by mail order from the brewery.
Very cloudy, golden yellow color, thin white head that quickly subsided. Rather weak aroma, wheat malt, grains, butter, some cloves, banana, and citrus as well. Less spicy than a usual weizen. Light body, crisp flavor, good wheat malt with the usual spices and bananas. Little sourness. Very light and clean. Easy to drink and refreshing, though the taste may suffer a bit from the lightness.

Glowing hay with a medium, frothy white head. Aroma is light wheat, some fruits, citrus, banana, some earth, and very little yeast. Flavor is a muted version of the soft aroma. Wheat, light citrus, earthy, and yeast in the flavor. Body is a bit too carbonated. A boring hefe. Gimmie their amber 10x over this.

My Bottom Line:TimE (5827) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUL 26, 2007
This drowsy Weizen manages to hang on to most tastebuds with its arrangement of banana esters, grassy hops and doughy yeast, but loses the finicky ones due to its misplaced hop intensity and its muddled flavor profile.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the lackluster beige cloudiness.
-Aroma and flavor profile are both quite timid.
-Yeast has some dustiness, which isn’t very appealing.
-This is far from their best brew, and certainly not a successful Weizen attempt.
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 A weizen on training wheels. Yes, you have bananas and cloves, but everything is way to thin and unbalanced. Well carbonated, but that doesn’t pull it together. Is this the same brewery that made the Amber?
