3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2013 Joiners Arms, Bishopston. Roasty malty ale with a touch of crystal malt. Lovely drop. Best tasting of the Swansea beers I’ve had.
Cask HP at Swansea Bay Beer Festival 2016, Brangwyn Hall. As ’Swansea Original Wood’, 5.2%. Translucent amber orange, still, foamy off white head. Aroma is bready, dough, airy, sugary. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is bready, quite thin, some tangerine. A bit thin. Goes well with orange flavoured chocolate. Slightly hazy light copper. The aroma - I can’t decide if that’s spiciness or 7-Up. Caramel, light metallic notes, some bread. Finishes a bit juicy. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 2, 2010
Cask @ Swansea Bay Beer Festival 2010. Orange-amber with a slight cask head. Smelly feet and dirty towel mars aroma. Wet hops and pedio. The mouthfeel is soft and juicy. Great flavors, though. Lingering bitterness. Great balance. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - JAN 16, 2007

Draught (at the brewpub): Light amber coloured, firm, lacing white head; fruity nose with a little maltiness and a distinctive hoppy touch; dry bitter flavour; long, aromatic bitter finish. A well made Welsh brew ! DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2006
Cask Stillage at the Paradise Brewery Bar, Wrenbury 29/12/2004
Amber mid brown coloured with a fruity aroma. Slightly bitter lasting malt finish. chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 30, 2004
One of three Swansea beers I sampled at the brewpub. Mid brown, with a creamy head. Like the other beers, served through a tight sparkler, so robbed of much of the aroma. Malty and fruity, with a full mouthfeel, but quite dry. Not bad. Cask (handpump), Joiners Arms, Bishopston, Wales.
