12 oz. bottle from CaptainCougar. Pour is crystal clear yellow - golden with a head that starts medium, but goes away quickly. Aroma is hop floral aroma. Taste is very smooth, with a nice floral hoppiness. Nothing extraordinary, but very drinkable. wcampbell (721) - Clemson, South Carolina, USA - JUL 20, 2007
Pretty good, but a little fizzy and carbonated. Hoppiness is not balanced by a strong malt flavor. A very crisp and bitter finish. Light bodied and drinkable. ElGaucho56 (394) - USA - JUL 20, 2007
unusually hoppy for a pale ale, really this is a lesser ipa, with sweetwater ipa overwhelming with citrus sweetness. Not bad, i guess it’s nice to have local. Hank1980 (966) - Athens, Georgia, USA - JUL 19, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2007 Decent pale ale. Pours clear and golden with a small white head. Good hoppy flavor with decent malt balance. Good easy drinking session brew. UofFkid (108) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUL 17, 2007
Tap. Pours light amber with varying head. A very nice hop aroma from start to finish.

Draught. Pours light amber with a white head. A good hop bouquet in the the aroma, as well as some caramel. flavor is exactly the same. Nice balance, and good use of hops. recessbully (1) - USA - JUL 14, 2007 does not count
I think what truly sets 420 apart from its cousing the Sweetwater IPA is that it is smooth. As someone who suffers from an acidic stomach from time-to-time, I find 420 easier to take in. Even with that aside I find the beer in the top tier for its style. pjk33 (390) - Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 13, 2007
Bottle. Drank this at my Dad’s camp. Didn’t put into a glass because we were going golfing on Dad’s course, but it was a pretty solid IPA. Nice hop bite and a bit of residual sweetness. Nothing earthshattering, but certainly a solid brew, even if those crazy bastards in Georgia made it! craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 8, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2007 420 is a solid APA... not the best by far, but a very drinkable beer. This is Sweetwater’s most popular beer, but their IPA is much better! 420 has a golden color, hardly any head to it, but is very pleasurable to drink. theshocker (329) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JUL 6, 2007
It is extra pale - light tan and crystal clear. Head is small and doesn’t stick around. Pleasant hoppy aroma - more floral than citrus. Smooth, crisp finish. Light body. I’d prefer a little more malt backbone. A crisp and refreshing PA, but not a great one. Terrapin Rye is definately the pale ale king of GA.
