COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Nice try for a fruit beer, the blueberries in this one arent too overly done but still enough to keep me from drinking this again. Lighter bodied and less offensive than other fruit beers and not overly difficult to drink but ones enough for a long time.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2017 Draft. It poured a gold with a white head. The aroma was fruity with a medium blueberry flavor. The taste s slightly tart. A nice change of pace.

Keg, Brewdog Edinburgh. Smells, like blueberry, looks like apple juice. A bit flat, thin and not much taste. Meh.

3.2
macca147 (498) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 4, 2017
Tasting paddle at Brewdog Oxford. 1/3 pint. Pours a pale and clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aroma: blueberries, citrus, mild floral notes. Taste: tart blueberries, citrus, mild sweet malt flavours. Thin bodied. Moderate carbonation. Mildly sweet and mildly tart. Quite thin and basic. A bit watery. Very easy to drink and refreshing, but not enough flavourto make you want it again. Good but not great. Would be very nice on a warm summer's day!

12oz bottle. Pours clear yellow-gold with a thin white head. Blueberries are in there, plus wheat, bread, some light sweetness. Light body. Crisp finish. Very light style, think session beer.

One of my favorite beers. Always get this when I'm in the Atlanta area. On paper a blueberry beer doesn't sound like it would be good, but this is a great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth´s House. A almost clear pale golden beer with a small most good lasting white head. Aroma of blueberries, sweet yellow fruits. Taste of sweet yellwo fruits, sugar, blueberries.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8142) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 7, 2017
Sampled on draft at Hugo’s this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized foamy off white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was strong sweet blueberry and yeast. The flavor was bitterish and yeasty with fairly strong artificial blueberry. Medium length finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

Pours a golden color. About two fingers white head. Okay retention, poor lacing. Good carbonation. Maybe slightly cloudy, hard to tell with the aggressive carbonation.

Aroma is blueberry for sure. Blueberry muffin.

Taste is blueberry, but not strong. Slightly artificial. Wheat beer. Simple.

Mouthfeel is medium light body. Smooth, refreshing. Very clean. Highly drinkable.

Overall, it’s okay. Not amazing. Not too much blueberry, but I would say not enough. I would not buy it again, but would not refuse it.

16 ounce draft at Winking Lizard Pennisula Ohio. Film on glass Not too foamy. Smell the blueberries. Taste nice and smooth. Faint taste of blueberries. Malty Not very hopped. Easy on the palate. Very drinkable and a little higher on overall ratings.
